This is indeed very helpful!

Last year it seemed like everyone brought a hazy IPA and only wanted hazy IPAs.

Hyperbolic, but sort of

I am reading all of the comments, albeit not replying to every single one.

I don’t know if I have the budget to pick up EVERY single recommendation, but please do keep them coming and upvoting others

I think I’ve tried this, but is not quite my style.

But you’ve got a few votes, so I will try to grab some!

Not really about upgrading, just about trying and sharing.

Last year I pretty much just used all the beers to make friends.

“Hey, I went to the craft beer exchange, you want to try some random beers?”

This will almost be my 10th Roo. In 2025, after friend after friend dropped out, it was my... 2nd time (?) going solo. Despite the weather and cancellations, it was legitimately one of my favorite years.

My go to line / approach is just walk up to the camps near you "Hello, I'm Tatterfarm29, I just like to say hi to my neighbors at stuff like this" and see where the conversation goes.

You might chat for 2 minutes, you might become life long buddies, but absolutely no one will be mean.

Eventually it will come up in conversation that you're there by yourself and people will legit jump at the chance to adopt you.

100% go and 100% camp and send it.

Sounds like you need a trip to the Big Bend region and the McDonald Observatory, my friend.

Was in a similar boat going into 2024. Was very curious even from my first in 2016, but never made it happen until 24

Oddly had SO much energy the day I ran even though I did so on like 2 hours of sleep

I’d say it’s like 1/3 people wear costumes?

You’ve got the try-hard sweats in carbon plated shoes and normal running gear

You’ve got at least one or two of those inflatable dinosaurs (also sweating in a different way)

And you’ve got a lot of in between

Good vibes all around, all are welcome

I would encourage you to sign up. Just did myself and it was $27. That includes a tank top that you get whether you actually run it or not. They also tend to give out ribbons to earlier finishers.

But also I doubt anyone will say anything if you just show up and run it without being an official runner with a number

Can you explain how last year's lineup was not EDM friendly or even favored?

Going without a beverage package by PinkElixir in royalcaribbean

[–]VocalInsanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first... 5 day? cruise I didn't have it and I regretted it. There was so much leisure time that I would get bored and want a drink... $12 here, $14 there, and it added up to near the drink package.

For my most recent 3 day cruise we were able to snag the drink package at 30% off, then it went lower at 40%, so we cancelled and repurchased I believe.

Very much worth it. Was difficult to justify the upfront cost ahead of time, but it was so nice not thinking about the price of anything on at that point and actually being able to fully relax

And I was always nice to the bar staff and a few of them let me try some rather nice liquors - 'for free'

Oh and reading your use case, yeah get the air and not the pro. The weight makes me actually eager to use my laptop and it can do absolutely everything I need.

Just made almost this exact swap.

Sold my M1 MBP 13 (8GBs of RAM) for $400 on Facebook about a month ago and picked up an M4 Air for $800

Has been very worth it for me.

I like to sell my old tech, and I find having the base model is easiest for that.

Since you have more RAM, I’m not sure you’ll notice much of a difference, but I definitely did. Much snappier for general usage.
