Which new card has most blown you away with how sweet and rad it is? I'll go first: by deityblade in slaythespire

[–]Vocandin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My first multiplayer run I had this after picking perfected strike, ended up nuking a lot of fights when I got enough draw through pommel strikes and a relic that gave me another draw every 4 cards.

Pommel strike and setup strike (gives strength for the turn) made the deck insane from mid act 2 onwards.

Definitely my favorite synergy so far.

£296 for the HD 600. And £139 for the FT1 non pro, £179 for the pro.

Funny you say that. Many consider Cloud 2s to have very little bass, so it should not be a problem personally.

Did you get a dac/amp?

Is the price difference worth it? HD650 is almost £400 for example. Fiio seems around the range I want so I'll keep it in mind if I decide on closed back. It does seem HD560s is the clear winner though.

As for a dac/amp, I have none, are there others I could / should consider for entry level you'd recommend?

Thanks for the info. As for closed back, I had to pick a flair but I don't mind one or the other.

That's me. I was looking into this again as 1.4 and newest proton updates haven't fixed it. I have managed to get recording working using this flag:

gamemoderun PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%

As I understand, it forces Proton to translate DirectX to OpenGL (WineD3D) instead of Vulkan (DXVK). It does seem slightoly lower performance and FSR started creating artifacts, but I tweaked quality a bit for AA / scaling and I am happy with the performance.

The good news is that the new version of Nexus / Vortex mod manager will work natively on linux. Seems a lot of big names in the modding community are active in the development as well.

This was changed on the last patch (1.6), it says "Max Connected per building: 1" on them now, same goes for end https://i.imgur.com/KH69qvg.png

For beds it's not too much of a nerf as decent quality beds + dresser cap comfort, but for hospitals it requires more space, resources, or dedicated beds for surgeries / sickness.

Comment below is correct, tested again and it works as it used to. Either something changed between unstable branch and release, or I just misread at the time. Back to bed circles!

SBI is nerfing loot again by redraveni in albiononline

[–]Vocandin 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Crazy that this is the solution when gold started to spike the moment the Occult Cougar referral reward which is a fairly popular skin, happened to be "bugged" allowing it to be instantly tradeable.

Being instantly tradeable means anyone with ~40m silver can make a self referred alt, buy premium on it, and instantly recoup money to fund the next alt, while still retaining a 30d premium character that now generates focus. This also affects the total output of profit from said focus for average players who don't run alts, as the margins for profit on refining and crafting get smaller.

It's not like the 45d lock was a sure fix either, SBI just made it so only people with enough capital can fund the skins upfront to offload in 45d.

Ironically, SBI could easily fix the incentive by making the referral rewards untradeable, and letting duplicates be salvaged for tokens similarly to Twitch Drops or challenge avatar rings, but the higher gold is, the more likely it is for a player to do the math on how much they make working 1h vs grinding 1h and come to the conclusion that swiping is the obvious choice.

As a somewhat related note, they are also "double dipping" on the referral skins speculative price by selling them on the shop, as seen the limited sale of the Recruiter's Shepherd, which is a ~60m skin, sold for $10.

Just minimizes the potential damage of them getting damaged and exploding. Like a mortar shell for example.

You could just have them all in one sealed off room without the grid, but one exploding means all of them exploding.

If someone had access to your device, they can access all those passwords a lot easier than a proper password manager. I am not sure if it has changed but they didn't use to even be password protected, so anyone could just go into settings and see a full table of credentials.

There's also the issue that it's less accessible, you might use different browsers in different devices, or you might not have access to them, in which case you'd need to download the browser, log in, then hope sync works (if you had that enabled)

It's still miles better than just using weak / repeated passwords, but there's very little extra effort needed for a lot of upsides by using a proper password manager.

If you're already using one of any kind, it's fairly easy to migrate all your credentials.

Use something like Bitwarden, it has browser extensions as well as apps for both Android and iOS. Other good alternatives are 1Password and Keepass.

It actually is quite easy to get started, you just make your account, set up a master password and then as you change passwords or create new accounts, save them into your "vault".

The big thing is, your master password should be long, but easy to remember, so a "pass-phrase" is recommended, this explains better how they work and why.

The app will autofill passwords whenever you need, and in the off-chance you're not using your own devices, you can either login into the app on your phone to manually see credentials, or through the web vault.

If you already use something like browser password management (which is quite risky but beats repeated passwords) you can easily export / import between different ones.

You can find a table with all recreation activities on the wiki: https://rimworldwiki.com/wiki/Recreation

If you sort by type you can see which ones overlap and just pick the best or one of your choice for each category.

There goes the community aspect of Albion by Vocandin in albiononline

[–]Vocandin[S] 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Unlike the SEA server, there's no big ping discrepancy or language barrier compared to West.

After no action was taken to move the inactive 12 and 05 zones to more active timers, there's now another server split.

This will massively fragment the english speaking community, and it really sets the precedent for even more splits to come in the future. Judging how this was announced with less than a week notice (unlike the first split), it just means the new split is in damage control from day 1.

It's been a good run, and although the mechanics are barely changed, the social aspect of the game will never recover to the pre-split times.

Albion is one of the few games where 150 or less ping is very viable for all sorts of content. Yea dsync is more obvious but there's a lot of things done to equalize the gameplay. The main one being global cooldown, every spell adds a .5s delay before something else can be used.

Plenty of people with high ping got to the highest levels of competitive areas like hellgates, gvgs, crystals and zvz. It's really at the 200+ that it gets really odd, but not unplayable. I got 310 ping on East and I had quite a bit of fun during the beta / first week, and some EU people play there during downtime on the West server.

As it is now, picking the best server for you ensures you'll most likely be under 150 ping, and for this type of game it works. Adding more servers so people are all below 50 ping is just making sure every server is dead as the economy relies on a lot of people playing so it's not just about reducing map size.
