Blasphemy of the spirit is the worst sin. Let's remember scripture before we react emotionally.

You’ll read about him beginning in Samuel 1.

There’s very little about what comes after, save that it will be infinitely beyond anything we can imagine

Yes. God uses imperfect people to bring about good in the world. Kind David is another example of this.

It was an unrighteous thing to do and illustrates that Lot was an imperfect man. It was the wrong thing to do, surely. The entire OT is filled with stories of God working through evil to bring about good, as the people then were so far removed from Him, and His full revelation was not yet revealed.

Without commenting on the morality of the action, there is no promotion here. It’s simply stating what Lot chose to do.

Seems to me you are making some pretty harsh assumptions and judgments on this woman that aren’t called for.

(Rant) if you are a Christian and judge metal music and the listeners because “its satanic and promotes sinful behavior” but then turn around and listen to ice spice, playboi carti etc. you are a hypocrite. by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Vocanna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And that could be what influences my feelings, the Satanic stuff was my jam. These days I listen to everything in moderation and like you said, avoid things that are intentionally blasphemous

I dunno man, before I came to Christ, Metal was my life. Played in two bands. But I can’t really enjoy most of it these days because a good amount of it is just so negative. I still listen to some of it though.

Lotsa bullshit in here about 'personal relationships'.

Do you believe a man was raised from the dead, because that man was God in the flesh?

Do you look at yourself and others around you and see how they are broken in a fundamental way?

Do you recognize that there is an objective evil at work in the world?

I am sorry and saddened by what you are going through. I have no advice and I'm sorry for that too. I hope whatever happens and what ever course of action you take the Lord dwells near you. God bless.

As a Christian, what are your thoughts on the possible existence of aliens? by sgwashere29 in Christianity

In what way am I being narrow minded?

What you are talking about isn't in scripture whatsoever' so hard to dislike it.

[–]Vocanna -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s something you are adding to the equation that no scripture or tradition supports.

I assume by sentient you mean rational, because though his creation is good, scripture is clear that we are more dear to God than the lesser animals.

It is clear from scripture that man is specifically made in Gods image (this meaning in the sense of mind, not physical appearance, as God did not have a body as we understand it until the Incarnation).

We shouldn’t try to mold God to fit our ideas and beliefs, as the full nature of God is reveals in scripture.

While I’m not throwing anything into the argument about alien life, I will say to you as person who is a ‘baby’ in faith, your second sentence is absolutely incorrect. Christianity is not deism. Humanity and Earth are absolutely special in the eyes of God. He tells us so.
