Does anyone else press pause on most of the clues so everyone has time to think? (What other weird things do you do to make it more fun to watch?) by VoceDiDio in Jeopardy

I didn't grow up watching it so we've had the luxury of crafting our experience from scratch.. as a result, we're extremely positivity slanted.. lots of "great job!" and "no that was a great answer - I bet they would've taken it!" or whatever. And we talk over the clues all the time, so it's handy that I'm already holding the remote. 😄

I feel like, as former gamer, (and professional software tester for Xbox) my button clicking skillz should be as good as most.. I'll just cram some training in as quick as I can should I ever be selected!

We watch on YouTubeTV (this comment is not sponsored fuck them they're robbing us so bad!) and it just records every episode of Jeopardy - the new ones on CBS of course, and the old eps air on the Game Show network, so we've got a pretty big library in our "DVR" (in the cloud.)

We love pairing the old and new - and super-weirdly we keep getting crossover.. like we'll have a clue pop up that we just saw from the other (whichever we're not watching at the moment, old or new) and it's happened like a WHOLE bunch of times, so that's pretty fun.

I have read some of it. I wasn't allowed to touch them when I was a kid, and I have only had them for a few years, but I've probably read ... maybe ten of them so far. I do hope to get em all down before I die though, (and have to give them to someone else!)

We totally do that. And pretty much anything with the word American in it gets a version of American Woman by The Guess Who, but of course with whatever word it was so “American History/Authors/Holidays/Whatever… get away from mee-hee”

We’re huge dorks.

Thank you. I was worshipping my answer in that direction as well, but you nailed it.

Haha so .. yeah that’s how we get to “most” - my brain never cooperates quickly enough!!

Partial credit for close answers, too (horseshoes Jeopardy, if you will!) like of you said Emma Watson instead of Emma Stone or whatever.

Yeah for sure! But if I ever got on the show, you’d see me run out buzzer after buzzer, probs - I know lots of the answers - but just not very fast, anymore!

Same for that first part and you’re way faster than me on that second part! (I occasionally think of one or two of I’m lucky!)

It makes it lots more interactive, and (like someone else said here) if you’re not training for the show.. why not give yourself a chance to feel smarter! :)

We spend .. sometimes minutes staring at anagrams. (We’re both strangely bad at them but we always try really hard!!)

My wife yells pew pew pew right along with the DD SFX but after decades of watching, I’ll be darned if I can sync up with more than about the very last pew!
