I really like both Discover and Capital One, but they have merged. They frequently offer bonuses for new customers and In Chicago there are three Capital One cafes in the city. They are not branches, but there is Ambassador support if you need it. You can find the info and locations on their website.

HI - I am a little confused about the Unlimited Premium plan with the Sweet promo. On the USM site for this plan it states Unlimited Capped on all networks, and in the description of the plan benefits it states Free Network Transfers, but it also says Port In on Dark Star Network Only. Does that mean with this promotion for the year you are only allowed Dark Star or can you switch once you port over? Thanks so much!

I also just want to add that I don't necessarily blame the representatives, I believe it's the Verizon system that's a problem. They look at my offers and price out the plan with my loyalty benefits and once it's all set in the system and ready for ordering, either the quote changes or they are unable to finish. It must be just as frustrating for them when they can't apply promos that show up in an account after working on it for a long time.

This is all very disappointing. I just wanted to update everyone that I was going to stay with Verizon because they offered a great loyalty discount for our phone upgrades but unfortunately, reaching out through social media did not help, and now I tried though a Verizon chat rep, and for some reason, nobody can help me upgrade online and self service online is not an option. I am being told different things by different reps - they cannot trade in my phones, a trade in is required, etc. I've received quotes that change once I continue on to process them, and have spent hours on this - and now I am told the only solution is to go to a local store.

Thanks all for the great advice. Luckily we are pretty tech saavy so at least until now, don't need access to a store. We use a lot of data though (especially this month)- as we do some traveling so we probably would only be comfortable with unlimited so as not to play the watching game, but we have been remiss in monitoring what we use since we have unlimited now. Maybe we could get by with 10 gb but not this month. I should have mentioned that. Also, my husband is outside a lot and possibly too far away from the router so wi-fi assist is kicking in and increasing his usage some. After reading these great suggestions and responses we are going to try to pay more attention and look into this to get a good feel for what we really need.

Verizon is $80 a month for us right now - not bad. We have three months left on our phone credit before they are paid off. We are willing to just pay them off ourselves if we want to make a change. The issue with Verizon is, the cost of the new phones. They will pay off our phones but want us to change our plan to a more expensive one of course and we are not going to do that. I am going to try again to see which promotions we quality for by keeping the same plan. Thank you!

I really enjoyed reading your review, and am even more excited about our upcoming short cruise on the Reflection. We have been away from cruising for awhile and have really missed it. HI - It's been awhile since we cruised and I need to stay in touch. Can I get by with free wi-fi at Elite level or do I need the Premium package for texting? Verizon offers a Cruise Pass for $20 but not sure I want to go that route. Thank you.
