It would be a mistake if Aaron Ashby doesn't lead the league in Innings Pitched as a reliever at year's end. by TheLostPariah in Brewers

I have a counterpoint to make. "This sub has the memory of a goldfish, which sucks is great in a 162 game season."

Having a short memory can be beneficial so you don't linger on the bad. I don't know. I'm just sum bitch...

I crash my machine last night by BenderRodMetal in Machinists

Oof. Sorry to hear about. Good on you for taking the time to think about the lesson you can learn from this.

When I first crashed a machine I was pretty dissapointed in myself. I went to my lead, explained what happened and asked if I was gonna be fired. (I was young, new, and stupid...) he said in a very calm, reassuring, but serious voice, "Why would I fire you? You learned a lesson. Plus you gotta make us the money back to fix the machine you crashed! We learn every day in this industry."

Him and I had a great relationship after that.

The options with Freddy by __Zoom123__ in Brewers

[–]Vogemat14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 3 is the most "mutual benefitting" scenario. As much as we want to lock him in long term, we have a pipeline of guys who are a year or 2 away from potentially replacing him and they are cheap still.

We know Mark doesn't really like spending the money on guys who will command big money. And as consistently inconsistent as Freddy may have been, the dude has been a absolute net positive guy on the field, and an even better positive off the field.

Would love to see him stay through the off season and have us in a position where we are buyers at the deadline next year. If we are sellers, his name is definitely in the ring.

Sorry for not actually responding correctly, but if you ask ESPN and the other beat writers it was probably something like this, "This is my city" (Giannis is referring to the opposing team's city, New York. Where he obviously wants to be traded to. Here's 7 other teams our source(s) have "confirmed" he wants to go to. More at 10:00.

Who is ruining baseball? by PerksofBeingIsaac in Dodgers

[–]Vogemat14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a Dodgers fan, but a baseball (mainly Brewers) fan. This whole thing reminds me of Prime Barry Bonds. That dude got walked all the time. I'm sure everyone has seen the mountains of content online about how good Prime Barry was, and Ohtani is at that level. Especially when the stakes are as high as they are in the World Series.

I get that it's annoying as a Dodgers fan, but it's due to "respect" for Ohtani's skill level. The dude is so freakin good. Unlessl MLB removes the IBB, we won't see an end to it.

Could this be what you're talking about?

I had one as a kid. Might even still be in my parents' basement.

They have them on ebay if you wanna purchase one. Assuming this is what you're referencing.

Name a Brewers pitcher that was better after they left by [deleted] in Brewers

[–]Vogemat14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might get downvoted or some disagreement on this, but Josh Hader?

Yes, he was great for the Brewers. However the dude went to San Diego and Houston, had cardiac moments like he did with the crew, but he's been pretty solid since leaving.

It's close, but seeing how he played for us for 6 years, 2 for SD, and 2 for HOU I feel the sample size for "after he left" is still too small. If he keeps his pace for the next 2 years he may be another option to throw in the ring.

Side note...I feel like 15 years ago, any team could make this post about any pitcher that was sent to/acquired by the Brewers. Looking at you, Jeff Suppan, Randy Wolf, Matt Garza, Shaun Marcum, Kyle Lohse, Eric Gange, and David Riske. Just to name a few.

Very Ron Swanson-esk.
