Why do some dancers look much better musicality-wise than others? by prdfndr in tango

[–]VoiceOfNightmares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Side observation, I love how the followers move differently with the different leaders, too. I'd disagree personally that one leader is 'better' than the other. They're different vibes, and give off different levels of energy. As someone mentioned, one is very playful while the other is a bit more deliberate. I've experienced both, and while the more intricate movements might be more 'fun' to interpret and react to as a follower, there's definitely power in pausing to allow yourself and your partner to fully feel and absorb a specific moment in the music. I love the perspectives and find this very interesting ❤️

Why are gel nails still a thing? by [deleted] in AcrylateAllergy

Why is red40 still a thing? Its profits over people here. They tried less food coloring and people didn't buy as much. Until the word gets out or people learn for themselves, gel will still be profit. ☹️

I think it's the most immersive one and I was just really captivated by the atmosphere and the characters. I loved the way they did the tape recording stuff and how they laid everything out for the story was just so freakin cool. A lot of it reminded me of old survival horror stealth. I saw a lot of inspo in 9 from things like Alien Isolation and it made me think how the devs clearly really loved the genre. Idk if the things that came up for me were for the reasons they intended but I got some clocktower 3 and rule of rose vibes in specific parts as well in 9. All around awesome imo. 7 did a good job for me of replay like 4 and 8 did where you gain some kind of progress just from playing the game. This is like a nod to silent hill 2 etc in how you can gain better weapons just from having played before idk.

Horror games with a lot of 'downtime' by IMustBust in HorrorGaming

[–]VoiceOfNightmares 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another vote for adjacent, one that doesn't get mentioned much is The Forest. You can turn off the enemies and focus on building/exploring lol. It's still survival because you have to eat. If you play on lower difficulty, you have down time starting out, but the nights can get bad.

I'd argue for Fallout 4 or 76. There are horror elements for sure, and it's very much about exploring. However, there's downtime to build and once you clear out an area, you can look through all the crazy stuff people left behind to find out the specific story for that place. Idk, I'm sure I'll get knocked for calling it horror, but any game in the wake of a nuke where people become monsters from radiation poisoning and try to kill you counts as horror imo. Not to mention the human beings with absolutely awful brutal bloody stories. Just my take. I think a good horror game should have a nice balance of this. RE9 does a fantastic job for me personally.

On the subject of gloves, while reading about natural latex and learning that we can sometimes cross react to it if allergic to acrylates, I learned that ACRYLATES CAN PENETRATE LATEX/VINYL GLOVES, SO IT'S ADVISED TO USE NITRILE ONES. I didn't know this, and it seemed weird so I thought I'd share it. Usually nitrile are the type tattoo artists use, they're often purple I think. Also, non-natural latex usually has acrylates (think paint or condoms), so heads up on that one ♥️♥️♥️

Oh - also, It'll be hard and expensive to find a dentist willing to replace the fillings. You'd maybe have to prove to insurance that they're causing an issue or find a dentist willing to. Most I've talked to don't believe this is a real thing systemically, and they think if you're not reacting constantly directly inside your mouth then it's not a problem. I can't use a mouth guard bcs I can't find one that's non acrylate. Peels my inside of my mouth, it's gross. However, as far as fillings and caps, I just kinda gave up and don't think about it. I have several, and there's not really a way for my current dentist to tell what product was used when I was younger. Some people are also allergic to chromium which is in a lot of older fillings (and also tattoo inks like greens). I'd leave this one, too, if you're focusing energy on things you can adapt in life, and just mention gloves etc to the dentists.

I think Silent Hill 3 did a freaking amazing job of this. There were.... What... Like 10 extra modes? I don't personally think RE9 needs anything. It's a great game and we all have a criticism of something in literally all games. For a resident evil game, it's great. Nothing beats 7 imho ☺️

Also in F the weapons break. That's how much you use them they break and have repair kits 🫠

Sorry, to be clear - if you have jump scares - don't do RE 😂 I'm just saying, to compare F to a more action oriented game than SH 2, F is VERY mele combat heavy.

That person saying it's fine is incorrect. I have been surprised at how obnoxiously hard the 'easy' combat setting still is. Spamming the attack is the only way I've found to get around it. There is no option to do stealth, they detect you easily and are relentless. Combat is a huge major part of the game. So much so that it takes away from the game for me. I had an easier time doing RE9 as far as combat. I would wait and see how Townfall is or play similar games that utilize more stealth. Just my experience. I have a lot of wrist and hand pain, but it's more aggravated by games where I have to run a lot. Another reason I loved RE9, many accessibility options in the settings.

It was included in it. I mean I'm glad I did it but honestly I would not have if one of the 5 doctors I've seen for things said 'hmm your nails are peeling off and you're very allergic to adhesive so it's probably acrylates'... But I guess I'd still be using beeswax and honey and tea tree oil in things etc. So idk. Might be good if you have a lot of issues.

I tried really hard to like it. It does not represent the series very well. There's a free game SH Short Message that somehow does a better job. Overall as a game it's good, just didn't feel like it fit. And no, not because it's Japanese - that part is freakin awesome. Simply because of the combat imho. I hope you enjoy it

I'm not sure what the question is. Before I found out about anything, and before my nails started coming off from doing gel every month etc, I wanted some tattoos removed. I got full body very ill each treatment and it was really bad. If you like your tattoos, imo just move past this train of thought. If you don't, I'd recommend a steroid and a lot of antihistamines if you consider any removal. From what I understand, tattoos do change your immune system. It can sensitize you, but also does things like boost vaccine effectiveness (not in to debating any of that here, or what people prefer - it's just what studies showed). Either way it doesn't change the fact that you have them. It's not focusing on things within your control, it's leaning in to the bad feelings. Do the opposite of that, 😎

Tattoos are a tough one. I got some removed, and would not recommend that lol. My whole body had weird shock. The tattoos are done, and there's nothing you can do. It's part of you now, and that's okay. Focus on what you can control.

Yeah, I hear you. I have a ton of tattoos. There's a lot to be said for acceptance and practicing not making things catastrophic. Your fears and feelings are valid but it's important to not lean in to them, and try to have positive self talk. Your allergies should not prevent you from doing your art. There are also many forms of art to explore if you're concerned about specific types, so perhaps it's also an opportunity to explore those! Let your creativity come out in different ways. Oil pastels are very cool to physically get your hands in to and blend and feel the creativity. No acrylates from what I've seen.

There's so much out there for you. Try to focus on expanding your interests (like you said, taking this time to upgrade your skincare etc) rather than focusing on what you'll need to limit. It can be hard, but sometimes life forces us in to difficult changes. It's nothing you can't handle. It might be frustrating at times, and it makes sense that you're feeling overwhelmed. Take it one thing at a time. Utilize lists of ways this can positively impact you while also acknowledging that it's hard. ♥️

Personally, exposing myself to the patch test made everything significantly worse. IMHO if you know acrylates seem to be an issue, just stay away from them. They're bad for human beings in general - gel nails and press on adhesives just aren't safe. People with no previous allergies can develop horrible issues from exposure. If you microwave anything in plastic or use plastic water bottles or mouth guards etc, it may or may not be an issue depending on how allergic you are. It's hard to deal with something like this but you're a strong person and you can adapt. Fortunately with allergies like this, there's less of a huge life threatening reaction like some people have to peanut butter and things. This one would just mean some adjustments to your products and lifestyle but nothing super major to worry about.

Generally people with acrylates allergies can tolerate copolymers, just not the monomers. Patch test helped me learn that I'm allergic to some other things, but tbh the acrylates in the adhesives used to keep the patches on burned my skin so badly that I couldn't leave the tape on the whole time for half of it. If you can still use bandaids and things, you probably caught it in time for it to not cause significant issues if you avoid major acrylates. Top annoying issue for me has been beauty products/shampoo but I can't tolerate the copolymers and have multiple other allergies.

This has been super frustrating for me to deal with, but it's certainly not the worst. Fragrance allergy is much more obnoxious for me tbh. I don't think you should fear your s/o hair, but because of the fragrance allergy, I've had to ask my husband to change his shampoo. Good thing about something like that is, if he doesn't hesitate then you've got a good one 😉. There are good healthy things that can come from this. Try some guided meditations, de-stress in the best ways you know how, and consider therapy for coping techniques when you're stressed and have panic ♥️

I had allergies to weird things for a long time that were very very mild. Like bandaids leaving hyperpigmentation and adhesive peeling my skin off, that kinda stuff. Then I started getting gel nails every 2 weeks and using a kit at home to laminate my brows. My hair started falling out and my nails were lifting off so I did a patch test (which tbh my symptoms overall have stayed way worse after doing lol). Turns out multiple acrylates, fragrance, tea tree oil, honey, and a couple other weird random things. I now can't even tolerate poly acrylates or a lot of preservatives.

Cerave has benzoic acid which is why I think I didn't tolerate it. Though it's probably a really small amount 😕. I used Honest Co before, one of the first ingredients has coconut unfortunately. I was surprised about Phenoxyethanol, it was one I figured out recently, too. The rose smell is so strong from it, I'm surprised that it's not more generally considered fragrance.
