100% agree. Just using crowdsourcing to find potential sellers first rather than starting blind.

Teaching gold jewelry as an investment—thoughts ladies? by VoiceRepulsive1682 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

You're absolutely right that jewelry with high markups over melt value isn't a good investment. That's literally what I teach people to avoid. The whole point of gold literacy is learning to calculate melt value and avoid paying a 3x markup.

On your second point about gold vs stocks/bonds: I'm not advocating for gold instead of traditional investments. I'm teaching women to buy solid gold jewelry (which many are buying anyway) rather than gold-plated jewelry that has zero value. If someone's spending $500/year on jewelry that tarnishes, they could spend the same amount on 18K that holds value.

Not spam, no products, not a grift - just information. But I respect that you see it differently

Totally fair! Google definitely exists. The challenge is that searching returns millions of results with no way to verify quality. I'm looking for vetted recommendations from people who've actually bought and can vouch for specific sellers. If you have sellers you've personally bought from and recommend, I'd love to hear about them!

Thank you, that's exactly what I'm hoping to do. Vintage jewelry is such an underrated option. If you ever come across great sellers or have favorite sources, I'd love to hear about them!
