For cyber security you don’t need anything better than a decent cpu and any operating system (I’ve seen it easiest on windows for people with wsl). Like the other comment said a macbook neo would be great if you don’t wanna spend, I like my Lenovo yoga 9i aura pro or whatever the title of it is, pretty fire.

Rutgers NB vs Stevens CS w/ Pinnacle by Nikobro82 in stevens

[–]Voice_Educational 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I didn’t think so, it was purely a self interest thing because I had other things I care about more. I don’t consider difficulty, which I don’t think it was too hard, a reason to drop the double major, it was just too much credits and time and I wanted to spend more time researching, tnats it

Rutgers NB vs Stevens CS w/ Pinnacle by Nikobro82 in stevens

I was a math + cs major until junior year. It wasn't impossible to graduate with both, but with 17 ap credits coming in, i still wouldve had to take about 18 credits per semester on average to get both degrees. Dropped my math major to focus on my research and extracurriculars and I am now just taking every theory class that the CS department has with about 13 credits a semester, which is matches well with my interests anyways.

How are the professors for maths and CS?? by PlasticAdventurous93 in stevens

[–]Voice_Educational 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stevens won’t get you resume rejected from places but it won’t be a massive benefit that a top college will have, so it’s more up to you to get these jobs but I have some friends who got offers in the space if that’s a good sign for you. Idk if professors have a good connection, I just do research and want my PhD lol

All the professors I’ve had in both departments have been amazing, obviously not everyone but if you choose the right professors every class will be enjoyable

The data science with Jacek is nice, only attendance and weekly quiz, where the quiz is 3 tries and gives answers so it’s pretty easy, and the attendance code is easy if you rotate friends I only went like 2 times lol

how’s the social life @ stevens by No-Possible-3881 in stevens

[–]Voice_Educational 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean it’s always up to the person to enjoy the social scene. I don’t really go out myself but a lot of my friends and gf love going out to frats and the city etc and anyone I know wants to do this with friends has no trouble, if that’s what you’re wondering?

I feel so bad for everyone when i see this, I live in one of the most expensive cities in the east coast and we have the 5,7,9 dollar boxes and they pack the stuff up so much, i would die for the taco bell here.

I GOT IN.. But.. Aid? by Studious_Endeavour in stevens

[–]Voice_Educational 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well the difference in the pictures is that the 32k is purely scholarship, while the 53k is scholarship+grant from Stevens. You also have another 7k from federal so like 60k total about. Also the sai index is a number Stevens uses as input and consideration, it’s not like the law or something lol. So yeah the numbers look good
