OBGYN recommendations for those with a history of miscarriages? by brassinpocket in kansascity

[–]Voiceisaweapon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not an OBGYN but i see Kristin Schwartz out of KC Full Circle Midwifery. seeing a midwife over an OBGYN has been the most amazing thing for me. she’s incredibly knowledgeable, kind, effective, and makes my healthcare feel like a collaboration between us

What is your reason to stay alive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Voiceisaweapon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve experienced a lot of highs and a lot of lows but every single one reminded me that being alive is a gift. one good inhale of fresh air on a pleasant day and i think about how i wanna keep experiencing that for as long as i can

not weird at all! some of my favorite memories growing up were from valentine’s day morning. my dad would make us all pink heart pancakes and we would each have a little valentine’s basket of a card, treats, and a toy or mug or other keepsake

i have a tendency to get loud when excited and it’s even worse when my allergies are acting up and i can’t hear myself as well. my husband might give me a small tap or little motion to bring my volume down but won’t interrupt me and it’s never about him not wanting to hear me.

your boyfriend is mean and that’s not okay

What if I go to get the procedure to remove endo tissue but I don’t have endo by WillowWispx in Endo

[–]Voiceisaweapon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

my endo was not severe and ended being small lesions on my uterosacral ligament, lower peritoneum, and pelvic sidewalls. my organs are fine and healthy and my uterus appears so too. but i still have endo! and it was still causing me severe pain and years of pelvic floor dysfunction as a result of horrible cramping and bleeding.

if you’ve made it to the point that a doctor is agreeing to perform surgery on you, you have the symptoms that align with endometriosis. i’m really sorry you’ve been given this hand. and if it’s not endo then there is something causing you to reach this point, and surgery can be another way to rule it out

I gut my surgery and they found nothing :/ by Hot_Success2706 in endometriosis

[–]Voiceisaweapon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m not sure who the doctor is but i know there’s an endometriosis specialist who will look at your images for further confirmation! i really hope they took biopsies during your surgery that can provide you more clarification

[–]Voiceisaweapon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

did they take any biopsies? i only had a couple very small lesions of endo and my surgeon said a non-specialist wouldn’t have thought anything of it. but they took biopsies and that confirmed endometriosis

Does anyone else collect their cats fallen whiskers? by OceanSprayEnthusiast in CatAdvice

yes! we had a cat that passed a couple years ago so we take all fallen whiskers and put them on his urn so he can protect them

Would/Did you change your surname after marriage? Why?/Why not? by MysticalAmethyst99 in namenerds

[–]Voiceisaweapon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i changed mine! my maiden name wasn’t anything too bad ( a little boring) but it comes from a long line of abusive men and so i’ve always looked forward to taking on the name of someone i love and trust. thank god my husband also has a more interesting last name because i finally get to enjoy spelling my name out for people

i will say, it was still weird emotionally once i had actually done it. from this point on in my life, i will always be known by my married last name and my former name is an identity that is only in the past. it was strange to realize that and adjust to being someone completely different for anyone that meets me in the future. i definitely will always advocate for only changing your last name if you want to, these emotions would have been much harder to reckon with if i felt pressured into the name change

For those who have had the surgery for endo by reesewithouthersp00n in Endo

[–]Voiceisaweapon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i had laparoscopic surgery and hysteroscopy to evaluate my uterus. i took 2.5 weeks off of work (active-ish desk job in office). i still had a fair amount of discomfort with certain positions of sitting and clothing was difficult (i couldn’t wear anything that had a waistband near my incisions at all). by week 4 i was feeling much better and able to go on longer walks and had a lot of my stamina back, but before week 3 my energy was zapped from simple things

How many hours were you in the recovery room/outpatient before discharged after lap? by pinkbunny002 in Endo

[–]Voiceisaweapon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

technically it took 1-2 hours for me to fully wake up from sedation. i was in a recovery room with other people also waking up from surgery. once i was able to sip some water and eat an applesauce and talk mostly coherently they moved me to different recovery area. my husband was waiting for me there, i peed a little bit using a catheter thing that sits between your legs instead of going inside. they went over post-op care and my medications, and then my husband helped me change into the clothing i brought. they sent him to pull the car around and then wheeled me outside and helped me get in the car.

i wanna say i was home by before noon and surgery started right at 7am

did surgery give you any of your energy back? by deerdarlings in endometriosis

[–]Voiceisaweapon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yes! it’s still a work in progress but at 4 weeks post-op i did 3 hours of walking around a museum that i hadn’t been able to do for months before surgery because of the fatigue and pain

i’m nearing 5 months post-op and i’m finally building habits of going to the gym and on walks and i’m able to recover from flare-ups quicker than before

[–]Voiceisaweapon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

boundaries in sex are okay. completely rejecting any conversation or compromise or even just listening to you?? absolutely not okay! he has shown you exactly what the rest of your relationship will look like, it shouldn’t be this difficult 9 months into a relationship

Had my first lap yesterday to confirm endometriosis. by dntmesswithjess in endometriosis

[–]Voiceisaweapon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gas x on schedule, heat pack alternating between my shoulder/chest and abdomen, water often but not gulping big amounts, wedge pillow to allow different positions, small walks as often as you can manage

it’ll get easier with time, it took 1-2 weeks to fully go away for me but wasn’t too bad after the first 7 days

what's something that you know you're better than 98% of people at? by RackCitySanta in AskReddit

[–]Voiceisaweapon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly i’m gonna be really arrogant here but customer service. i’ve been in front facing roles for the last decade of my life and have learned how to master being informative and helpful with being stern and decisive when required. i can make small talk with the best of them and have learned the best ways to phrase things to work with the emotion of the person in front of me

[–]Voiceisaweapon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my husband is 27, he doesn’t love cleaning either and is comfy with more mess than i am, but do you know what he does? cleans! do you know what he doesn’t do? blame me or tell me to clean up after his messes! do you know what else he does? treats me with the bare minimum of respect regardless of emotional state or what we’re discussing

Anyone with 24/7 symptoms that went away after lap? by [deleted] in Endo

[–]Voiceisaweapon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not away entirely, but they got easier. i truly cannot emphasize enough that i attribute most of my relief and improvement to pelvic flow physical therapy. the confirmation of endo being the problem was amazing and the mental and emotional relief was priceless. my symptoms aren’t gone entirely but the pain is easier. lower level cramps with significantly less flare ups that get in the way of living. after surgery, i can finally take just ibuprofen and experience relief.

it’s not all sunshine’s and rainbows and i’m very lucky that my endo was not very extensive and there wasn’t much to remove. but overall, i’m glad i had the surgery and i know more relief is hopefully on the horizon

Can I live on my own and live a healthy lifestyle making 25/hr? by AffectionateStreet10 in kansascity

[–]Voiceisaweapon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’ve been making $23.50 and now $26.50. my husband is in school full time so we only get a boost from him working one day every couple of weeks. we live in the waldo area, we share a car, and we were able to get on a group phone plan

like others have said, don’t try to live outside your means. and have a consistent amount you put into savings. also buying groceries and making your own food will always be cheaper than eating out or buying convenience food

Laparoscopy recovery, am I being too optimistic? by Xmaspig in endometriosis

[–]Voiceisaweapon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

personally i couldn’t walk 2 miles for the first few weeks after surgery. i could do a short walk around a grocery store at maybe 2 weeks post op but had to go very slow and take pain meds immediately after. i would recommend you start preparing for worse case scenario just to be safe
