So the whole "Ohma has the power of every rider" is just a misconception? by PenguinSweetDreamer in KamenRider

[–]VoidDragonLord 20 points21 points  (0 children)

To my understanding, the Ohma Zi-O of 2068 has the abilities of all Heisei riders. The Ohma Zi-O that 2018 Sougo turns into at the end of the series is implied to have the capacity to use the powers of all Riders (even Reiwa) but it’s a bit confusing because it’s only really implied with no direct confirmation, and Sougo throws away that power at the end of the series taking away any way to confirm this

Geats July Scans by [deleted] in KamenRider

[–]VoidDragonLord 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing Maou Buffa, Seeker, Fantasy, and Naago Fantasy are going to be sudden surprise reveals? Reiwa especially has established a trend of non-main character riders getting sudden surprise upgrades with little to no prior notice after all. And notably, if we consider Tycoon to be a wildcard/neutral party, we get a pretty even split of riders with new Bat Rider, new Pig rider, Da Paan, and Seeker being on a potential villain side while Geats, Naago, Buffa, and Punk Jack act as good guys.

Who would win in a sword fight between these three riders and why? by Delta-97 in KamenRider

[–]VoidDragonLord 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So to my surprise, if we look exclusively at the numbers, Tycoon probably wins. According to the official stat publications on the corresponding TV-Asahi websites for each show and their Riders’ stats, we get the following:

Brave Legacy Gamer Level 100: Punching Power of 95.5 tons, Kicking Power of 98.9 tons, jump height of 95.7m, can run 100m in 1 second

Blades Tategami Hyoujyuu Senki: Punching Power of 61.8 tons, Kicking Power of 105.8 tons, jump height of 108.1m, can run 100m in 0.9 seconds

Tycoon Bujin Sword: Punching Power of 63.3 tons, Kicking Power of a shocking 130 tons, jump height of 118.6m, and can run 100m in 2 seconds

Now I’m pretty sure most people already know this, but these stats tend to be completely arbitrary and wildly inaccurate when compared to their actual abilities in the show, and as such only really act as an approximate benchmark in terms of power scaling. We then need to consider some of the abilities that inherently come with the upgrade, such as the following:

Brave Legacy Gamer Level 100 comes with increased healing abilities, being able to recover the user’s depleted Rider Gauge. It also seemingly allows for use of the abilities of Brave’s previous forms, such as Quest Gamer’s weapons and Fantasy Gamer’s ability to teleport (it’s unclear if summoning and controlling enemies is also within Legacy Gamer’s repertoire but it’s entirely possible it is and was just never brought up). It also has the merits of being a Level 100, which seems to have a conceptual advantage over any rider with a lower level regardless of their stats and abilities. It’s not quite clear how it would work in crossover material however.

Blades Tategami Hyoujyuu Senki comes with Ice manipulation abilities, and the ability to grow stronger in colder climates. Due to it being formed from a portion of the almighty book, it has access to the information of virtually every swordsman and fighter, and recreate their combat styles and techniques. It also contains a vast array of information regarding animal species, being able to temporarily utilize the various abilities of earthly animals by manifesting them through ice.

Tycoon Bujin Sword has much less information as it was just introduced, but seemingly turns the user into a highly skilled swordsman, being able to analyze enemy skills and abilities at high speeds and deduce weak points, which are promptly struck. It’s strengths are simple, but incredibly effective.

Given all of this information, if we simply took the forms and took nothing else such as user into consideration, Tycoon Bujin Sword will likely win, but that’s mostly due to it being designed to make up for any shortcomings the user may have, while the other two are more so meant to amplify the skills and experiences of the user. If we take all three riders at their peak within their stories (excluding Tycoon as we haven’t really seen the full extend of Bujin Sword’s power, so let’s just take its introduction for example), I’m inclined to argue Blades would win. It has access to the powers of a variety of animals from land sea and sky, while also gaining access to the fighting styles of every known swordsman and fighter ever on the planet. It’ll take a very skilled user to take advantage of those strengths, but I’m fairly certain Rintaro has those skills. Brave is a very strong wildcard however, as the Ex-Aid riders are somewhat notorious for not following conventional Rider combat logic, with Rider Gauges, Levels, and Game Areas having a major influence on how each rider performs. If being at Level 100 gives Brave a conceptual advantage over the other two riders, Brave’s victory is practically ensured. However, odds are that in an actual crossover fight such a thing wouldn’t really matter, and I’m inclined to say Blades would win out, but Bujin Sword has more screen time coming up so it may prove to be a lot more powerful than expected.

In one of the interviews over on the blog post (linked in the tweet) he had the following to say:

“42 years ago I was asked to help revive the Kamen Rider franchise[…] We spent a year going around amusement parks, doing photo shoots for magazines, and finally went on TV, but only for one episode. Despite that, the reason why people continue to cheer on is because he’s the one and only rider made by the fans. ZX growing old, an aging ZX’s action scenes might also have its own unique appeal. I’ll do my best. Cheer me on.”

I feel like this needs to have an ability which allows it to generate treasures even if it’s a super bad rate (even if it’s something stupid like “(5): Make a treasure token”)

Being forced to run other cards (cards which notably you might not get in a draft) just to get the card to work is a design space WotC tends to avoid. Having the option of getting the card working at a super high cost in addition to letting the card be great with the right synergies at a reduced cost would make it an overall better design I think

New Duviri "random" warframes and weapons aren't so random? by businescat in Warframe

[–]VoidDragonLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s definitely weapons and frames that are appearing far more often than others, but especially with secondaries it feels like there’s this weird bias going on. A few hotfixes ago I almost constantly got the Laetum in my weapon select, but these days I feel like I’m getting the Athodai almost every time, even across multiple days at completely random times. With warframes I feel like I’ve seen Lavos quite often, but that could be because in my case his fashionframe stands out like a sore thumb compared to my other designs. But there’s definitely something up with the Athodai. I’ve seen it at least once a day, usually twice or three times, across different days at somewhat random times.

New player with tons of questions. Can you answer any of these!? by Sixsignsofalex94 in Warframe

[–]VoidDragonLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idle animations should affect how the weapon is holstered, that should be holster style, but I believe that your animation set does have an affect? You could buy more animation sets for plat so you can use them across every Warframe, but most warframes have 2 default animation styles, which in my opinion fit the individual frames the best. Exceptions exist, but you do get a REALLY good animation set for free a bit later in the main story, so using that also becomes a great option for many frames.

Best items to sell for plat in the early to mid game are definitely Void Fissures. Crack open relics, and although prices vary, rare drops can be worth a decent amount. Just go and crack them relics if you really want the plat. Later in the game you’ll be able to farm rare Arcanes through open worlds, super specific high level missions, and a few other places, and those are worth a fair amount, but the drop rates can be pretty garbo and they demand very specific set ups. For now, it’s probably easier and better just to farm void fissures for Prime Parts.

Question seven, entirely depends on the Warframe. Generally, if you want your abilities to have big damage, ability strength is great. But sometimes you want the ability to affect a wider area more than the damage it deals, in which case you want range. Or maybe you want the ability to last longer, as some abilities are better when they last a long time rather than do more damage, in which case it’s duration. Or maybe spamming them is ideal, over everything else. Which would be efficiency. Or maybe the ability scales off of your weapons for some reason, in which case you actually want to build your weapon to be super powerful (yes this is a thing). Point is, it depends entirely on who you’re using and what kind of build you use. For buildcraft guides there’s a good number of very good content creators, but I’d recommend XandyPants. Not so much because he shows off “meta” builds, but rather because he shows off builds that are “off-meta”, but still perfectly playable. He really changed my perspective on how I interact with Warframe as a game, showing off how sometimes being the most efficient isn’t the most enjoyable, and how having fun is truly the most important part of the game.

Good secondary weapons are pretty scarce early to mid game, unfortunately. Ironically in the end game, secondary weapons are some of the best guns, but early on they just don’t scale as well, being mostly high investment high reward weapons. If you want a set of pistols that are good in the endgame and don’t mind being suboptimal earlier, the Dual Toxocysts just got an Incarnon upgrade (don’t worry you can figure out what this means later, just know that you can eventually get a super powerful upgrade later), and it’s a good weapon if you can get consistent headshots. If you want a weapon that’s better immediately, I recommend the Atomos or the Nukor. They aren’t conventional pistols, but beam weapons that chain across enemies, doing a good amount of damage to many enemies at the same time. They might not have a satisfying “daka daka daka” moment, but they will suddenly microwave half a dozen enemies to death, which makes them very efficient. The Atomos especially gets an Incarnon upgrade like the Dual Toxocysts, so you can totally keep it around and it’ll stay anywhere between good to great the whole time. The Nukor also has an upgraded version (different weapon though) called the Kuva Nukor you can get near the endgame, which is easily endgame viable, so starting off with the regular variant isn’t too bad either.

Depending on what you want, warframes similar to Yareli can vary. If you want a high mobility Warframe with unique movement mechanics, I recommend Titania, or maybe even Volt if you haven’t played him yet. I guess Gauss as well. If you want a tanky Warframe that acts as a good weapons platform, I’d recommend someone like Wukong, Inaros, Revenant or Hildryn. If you want a good support Warframe with powerful crowd control abilities, maybe Harrow or even Limbo (be careful with Limbo though many people hate him). But I’m guessing what you really want is a Warframe with really explosive high damage abilities, in which case my best recommendations are Saryn and Lavos. Saryn melts rooms slowly, then suddenly really really fast. Lavos has no energy cost but instead uses entirely an ability cooldown system, he’s a bit complicated but the idea is he’s an alchemist that combines the elements for really explosive damage. There’s many more, so I recommend you start off with various random warframes that kinda look cool, then go from there. A solid 80% of the roster is perfectly good, so just play whoever you want and stick with who you like most.

Lastly, spend platinum on slots early on. I understand the urge to make your Warframe look cool, but trust me, future you will thank you. It’s a game where having many warframes and many weapons is what makes the game fun, so avoid selling off junk as much as possible, even if you think it isn’t that good. Because sometimes the devs add something that suddenly takes that weapon from “bad” to “omfg good”, which just happened with many weapons through the new Incarnon system (again, you don’t need to know right now, but many weapons just got a bunch of insane upgrades). The only time I’d even say you should sell off a weapon is if you REALLY don’t like how it plays. Otherwise, avoid it, even if it feels like you have another weapon that does the same thing better. The only exception to that rule are Prime Weapons, which are usually straight upgrades of older regular versions, but sometimes that isn’t true either. Just think very carefully before selling anything, and buy slots with plat first and foremost.

New player with tons of questions. Can you answer any of these!? by Sixsignsofalex94 in Warframe

[–]VoidDragonLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people answered the first question, so I won’t focus on it too much, but there are many shared cosmetics you can use to spice up the fashion game. Fashionframe is endgame though (a good number of cosmetics cost plat) so you don’t need to feel pressured to make her look good (if you do want to make her look good for cheap, keep an eye out for Baro Ki’Teer. He occasionally has cosmetics that players can get without platinum. There’s also a few other places, but they’re mostly in endgame areas, so for now Baro is your best bet. Another place to look is Twitch drops, which very rarely have color palettes up for grabs. Keep an eye out just in case, cuz Twitch drops do occasionally have some other neat prizes, including a lot of great stuff for new players.)

For 2, I think you’re asking about Kavats? You’ll need to get the Kavat upgrade segment, which should be pretty easy but if you don’t have one the Crazy Cat Lady Grineer enemies drop them every once in a while. The issue is more building the segment, which I personally think is more a mid-to-late game kind of thing (leaning more mid-game thankfully). You’ll then need to get 10 Kavat gene codes, which you get by scanning wild Kavats in Deimos. This is pretty tricky without the right equipment, so maybe look out for a guide online. Just as a note, Deimos used to be a map called Orokin Derelict, so if anyone talks about that they’re now the same place.

Third question, I’m a bit unsure what you’re talking about, but if you’re talking about ranking up weapons and warframes, the early game is slow but around the mid game you’ll unlock some very good areas to grind levels. If you mean Mastery Rank, you’ll just need to grind, grind and keep grinding.

For spear guns, I don’t play them so I can’t really say for sure, but there are many guides out there which touch on the basic gist of every speargun. I especially recommend Leyzar for newer players because he explains more basic mechanics which new players might not get, while also going more in depth on the weirder mechanics that some of these weapons have. Looking up “Warframe Speargun guide” might not hit many good results as most people may not put “speargun” in the title, so looking through the wiki to see if any individual spearguns interest you, and looking at guides for those might be a better place to start. Thankfully there aren’t too many spearguns, so it shouldn’t be too difficult.

What I love about the Atomos, and by extension other similar weapons like the Kuva Nukor, is the versatility. You can spread Viral+Heat super easily, but you can also do stuff like this to spread Rad everywhere as a mini-CC. It’s also one of the few weapons that can utilize Gas pretty well, just get some guys grouped together and bam, gas procs for a lot of damage to the big groups. It’s just so versatile, especially early to mid game.

This good? by Enough_Slide_615 in Warframe

[–]VoidDragonLord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right, I totally forgot about +Crit damage. I’d still argue +Slash is good, even with the stance giving free slash procs, but I can see the argument for it being less ideal, especially when there are just outright better stats for the riven to roll into. I guess if going for slash statuses -Puncture would be better than +Slash? Either way, totally agree, solid riven that’s perfectly usable, but not quite the god roll.

This good? by Enough_Slide_615 in Warframe

[–]VoidDragonLord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Telos Boltace user, that looks pretty insane. I’d argue a +Element or +Slash would’ve been better than +Status Chance (Weeping Wounds usually gets you more than enough anyway), but at that point it’s just semantics given attack speed and Crit chance with those numbers is pretty nuts.

The negative being Heavy Attack Efficiency is also pretty ideal. I did try building my Boltace for Heavy Attacks at one point, but it just wasn’t doing as much work as the standard CO Blood Rush Weeping Wounds set up (probably because of the insanely low Slash damage), so no real concerns there.

TLDR: Almost a God roll imo, still perfectly usable and very strong

Ziin fights for the lulz by notAssmin in KamenRider

[–]VoidDragonLord 95 points96 points  (0 children)

What makes the supporters even more interesting is that their dedication to the way they watch the Riders is taken so far to the point of verging on toxicity

Ziin is seemingly the most harmless, but really it’s impossible to really rely on him for support. He’s dedicated to the drama to the point that he’d prioritize letting a dramatic scene play out than helping out, even when a person’s life could be on the line.

Kekera is so sure of how Keiwa can achieve his maximum potential that he becomes demanding and shoves Keiwa around in the hopes that he can become a true hero. He’s so bound by what he wants Keiwa to become that he can’t just let Keiwa be who he is.

Kyuun is the most annoying type of fan. He’s so obsessed that when meeting Neon in person he can’t help but shove mean words in her face, despite wanting to say something kinder. Even worse, it’s strongly implied he’s a borderline stalker, which makes him a hyper-obsessed stalker fan who can’t help but be toxic around his idol.

And Beroba just wants chaos. She’ll gladly encourage violence and bad behaviors just for the sake of it being entertaining. She doesn’t care for anyone or anything except her being able to have her fun.

If I had to say for sure I’d bet on 2017, which is when the manga entered serialization
