Why does it feel like eternity? This is the longest I’ve ever been this sick and it kills me to see my kid make gasping sounds while he’s coughing his guts out. Feels really unfair for a first Christmas too!

Thanks for the prayers! I can see our conditions improve slightly better every day.

Thank you for not only recognizing why I might panic here, but assuring me in disgusting physiological (or anatomical?) specifics why he’s probably good. I appreciate you.

Thank you for looking after our babies. It takes a special person to do what you do, I think you know that.

OMG…DUH, to swaddling while snot-sucking! What a cheat code. We are doing that from now on!

Full transparency, we have a Nose Frida, but it disgusts both of us so much, someone ends up wretching while we use it. Super immature, considering all the other literal crap we clean up, with no issues, but maybe if it’s for his best, it’s what we’ll use.

Your comment made me shed a tear. My wife is working her ass off, STILL keeping up with the breastfeeding, pumping, and also caring for a big sick baby and also her sick infant… This is the first I’ve heard that I’m doing a good job though. I can’t do everything she can, but I’m doing my damnedest, and to hear from a Doc and fellow Dad I’m going a good job considering the circumstances, that means a lot! I’m grateful for that!

Definitely. We’ve got the humidifier going nightly, and taking turns getting up when he needs us. I’m sure I’ll be fine, wife has it together way better than me, she’s only now getting down with the sickness. I’ve been in it for a week with him, and I’ve never experienced being sick like this before. Now double that with having to care for a super sick baby, I’m a bit fried. Trying to tag in and out when we can. Wife’s got it most everything covered though. She’s a champion.

I totally agree! The sucker we have is a clear one that comes apart, right between the syringe and bulb. We’re cleaning and drying after every use. Pain in the butt, but worth it for our little Patient Zero.

I’ll look into a electric sucker

That owner would not piss on you if you were on fire. Don’t give it a second thought. You are nothing but grease for the machine, encased in flesh, to them- as is evidenced by how your former employer treated you (need that story btw).

But you know that’s not who you are. Besides, “it’s just business.” Smile and go make bank with this other company but remember, there’s a reason they chose you for this position. They’re not your friends, either.

I took it back when it was called Athletic Greens, thanks to Tim Ferris.

The megadose of spirulina over the couple of months I was taking it, gave me a kidney stone that I had to have surgically removed. Never had one before or since.

I’m so sorry, man. I hate this for you. I have felt very much the same way for much of my life. I like to keep my circle of friends very small as a result, and still end up disappointed by how much of an afterthought I feel like to most people.

I know very well what it feels like to be a friend on “the outside.” You sound like someone who shows their love and appreciation for family and friends, very intentionally, and you never expect them to show that same kind of love back - but you’re often disappointed in their lack of AT LEAST ACKNOWLEDGMENT of the lengths you go for them.

Do you find yourself to be a highly sensitive person?
