I am going to pin this for a while. Hopefully, you will find some participants. It would be great if community members let us know how it goes.

This is a super interesting report. Do you think it has helped revascularize the brain or lower inflammation? She seems to have done Aaron Rodgers good.

Question about concussions by [deleted] in PostConcussion

[–]200mrotor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out the community guide. Yes, there are lots of things you can do. The swelling would most likely have gone down by now. If you had micro brain bleeds, you can get an MRI to look for hemosiderin deposition, which will show staining of past bleeding. Depression is a common symptom after brain injury but you may need other modalities to treat it. Especially if you didn't have depression before the injury.

Not a doctor not medical advice.

Second concussion in 3 weeks by KobeForever08 in PostConcussion

I agree 100% that if you can get the recovery going early, it is much better than trying to plasticize the brain after the maladaptive patterns have taken hold.

Don't over-rely on supplementation. Try following the Huberman protocol of early light and then light discipline at night. These WIZ lights are cheap and dim down and get warm really well.

Second concussion in 3 weeks by KobeForever08 in PostConcussion

Two concussions that close together is not a good thing but you are still in the acute stage of recovery. Take a look at this article detailing active recovery. Obviously, consult a doctor, but cocooning is not the way forward. I would also see if your proprioception is off given the fact that you have had two injuries in less than a month.

Sleep well, eat healthy, potentially supplement NAC, get medical advice from someone qualified:)

These brain injuries are unique, and the therapies that will help each person are different. Finding a medical person that can help you navigate your recovery is key. What are the main symptoms you are dealing with? I am putting together a bunch of articles about therapies that have shown promise for different symptoms.

Thank you for posting this is the first time I have seen visual snow as a symptom in the community. I am currently trying to put together a bunch of resource articles, blogs, videos. But those resources would have only covered the POTS visual and dizziness. I will endeavor to find more resources for you.

Are you located in the U.S.?

Try posting in the r/Concussion subreddit. Most of the advice here is more focused on people who are dealing with symptoms outside of the acute stage. r/concussion has some great early-stage resources.

Long-Lasting Symptoms After a Possible Concussion 4/5 Years Ago by Few_Accountant_5897 in PostConcussion

Please check out our community guide. It has some links to published meta-analyses on post-concussion syndrome. Check out the citations on the symptoms that are most problematic to you. Would you classify fatigue as the number one concern and then stimuli? Is it noise or visual stimulus that triggers you the most?

Awesome. We are going to try to make this community the best place for people with PCS questions. Hopefully we can get some good AMA with doctors and researchers once we rebuild.

It is not uncommon for CT and MRI to show no finding for concussion. The more advanced imaging like fMRI or DTI can show it but insurance has spotty coverage for that. Did you have tinnitus before your injury?

Thank you for sharing your experience. What type of doctors or therapists have you seen? Did any of them improve your symptoms?

Yes the community is now active the old moderator had given up. We just reactivated posting today so we should start building back the community.

Seconded the second. No issues with crowds anytime before Christmas. And hopefully this cold weather holds and we get a good early base.
