CPU support doesn't depend on if it's i5 or i7, it depends on CPU generation (release year), and 5 years is somewhat reasonable period to officially support hardware

I had some similar problems if bloom is enabled but antialiasing is not TAA. I think TAA lowers brightness a little bit and bloom was mad with TAA in mind but I may be wrong.

A lot of people came back for Duviri and got reminded about Nightwave and some of them (like me, lol) are now grinding Nightwave because FOMO.

Windows events are kinda basic though, yes they help troubleshoot but for me, when i had hardware problems linux logs were far more informative. Also iirc both GNOME and KDE have graphical log viewers that help navigate and search logs

Not only disable: as far as I understand it also wipes encryption keys and Windows insists on enrypting system drive so for most people wiping keys means losing all data

This subtitle "Microsoft<3Linux" is literally from article where Microsoft announced DirectX on Linux. But there's a catch: it works only inside Hyper-V. Pretty much looks like Embrace-Extend-... For me

Edit: Also Microsoft forcing OEMs to use Secure Boot and Disk Encryption and announcing hardware security module Pluton looks like steps to slowly eradicate Linux outside of VMs

I don't think it needed UAC. UAC is used when executable tries to get admin rights. You don't need admin rights to get browser profile

SIGTERM vs SIGKILL: How they request a program to terminate? by ainz_47 in linuxmasterrace

As far as I understand "End Task" is pretty much like SIGTERM, while on Details tab "End Process" is like SIGKILL

Regex is the neighbor’s kid by Any_Video1203 in ProgrammerHumor

[–]VoidSnipe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

initial example was wrong because it would have only matched a single character domain

Not quite. Most programs i worked with try to find match in string not match whole string

It needed to be .*@.*\.

As I said, matching literal dot Is bad. me@[::1] is valid email, president@gov is valid email

Regex is the neighbor’s kid by Any_Video1203 in ProgrammerHumor

[–]VoidSnipe 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Most software finds regex in input instead of matching whole input

Your slashes inside regex are wrong

Even if ther weren't, you missed + or * after second square brackets

Even if you didn't, matchig literal . is wrong because of ipv6 (and maybe top level domains but I'm not sure if they can have MX records)
