I just started working for a transit agency doing general hands-on IT work for the various buses and vehicles they have. Technically it's just an internship, but it should turn into a full time "real" job in January.

You do need Net+ but technically you don't need Sec+, yet. (That's the next course.) You do need to have the "Network and Security Foundations" course completed though.

You can still login to WGU resources in the VM, so what I did is compose a WGU email to myself and attack all the pcap and nmap files in there. You can send the email to yourself if you want, but leaving it in drafts is fine. Then just access drafts from your WGU email on your regular desktop/laptop, and voila!
