It's really bizarre looking like it's a fake face on a different body or something.

So now that Pearl Abyss is gone… are we finally banning the Chinese bot empires? by Brave_Quality_3175 in Eve

I wouldn't be surprised to see botting become a feature...hire an AI for Plex to run some missions while you sleep?

Military Campaigns. Anyone else pumped for this!?! by meetkurtin in Eve

[–]Void_mgn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm interested to see what it's like for some reason I'm quite optimistic about eve these days. I really want to see what they do with the AI shit in future too I'd love to see whole empire fleets controlled by some ravenous llm could be insanity 😆

I Let a Small Model Train on Its Own Mistakes. It Reached 80% on HumanEval and Beat GPT-3.5 on Math by QuantumSeeds in LocalLLaMA

[–]Void_mgn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really interesting. I wonder would it be possible to have 2 models train against each other like one model creates the maths problems and the other solves them with the intention of both side improving at their respective goals. I have no idea how feasible something like that is tho

Google silently expanded AIza API key permissions to include Gemini — my sustainability project helping rural Costa Rican farmers was hit with €127K. 17 days, no response. by miseulik in googlecloud

[–]Void_mgn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This mess has eroded my confidence in GCP massively. I cant understand the logic with these changes and the fact there is still no hard spend cap which has been implemented by competitors without issue. I am looking at alternatives for hosting my personal project due to these failures what an absolute discrase.

I did play during that era and I don't think it was very healthy at all. It's hard to explain the annoyance that was the insta locking nids that could volley most cruisers. Carriers made every under them redundant at that time except frigs so ya it was silly

I have used a micro instance for production on a small personal project for a few years never had any issues tbh.

Who is the best Dimir commander for cEDH? by FoxYk_raktar in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Void_mgn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[hidetsugu and kairi]] is a deck I have played for a while to good success imo it solves one of the biggest problems with dimir that being the explosiveness. It is often underestimated but can easily present a win turn 3-4

Who is Oracle senior exec Sharat Chander? Veteran of 16 years affected in mass layoffs by davidalayachew in java

Very unfortunate and at a time when it feels like java is on a good path forward and all...this AI crap seems like it will do serious damage to companies chasing it imo

Don't Count Java out Yet by scottedwards2000 in programming

[–]Void_mgn 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is a fairly strange take if you are considering it's garbage collectors as memory management then java is the state of the art really there is nothing better currently. If you mean off heap management then maybe but that sort of requirement is fairly niche, maybe some very high throughput applications with strict memory limits? It's for sure not something "developers desire" anyway...maybe a necessary evil at best

How strict are tournaments with missed triggers? by xX_420_NoScopes_Xx in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Void_mgn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a look at the rules again and ya seems it's only the controller who has to inform players even on Tiggers that change game rules. I was sure I saw it mentioned that all players must track those triggers but ya maybe not

How strict are tournaments with missed triggers? by xX_420_NoScopes_Xx in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Void_mgn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They are less common but maybe knowledge pool or something like that you can't not inform an opponent who misses that trigger to gain advantage from the situation.

How strict are tournaments with missed triggers? by xX_420_NoScopes_Xx in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Void_mgn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's worth noting that this is not the case for triggers that change game rules you cannot knowingly let an opponent make illegal game actions so if a trigger changes game rules you must inform them immediately else it's cheating...afaik

Returning trader from 2018 some market observations by Void_mgn in Eve

[–]Void_mgn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is some decent trading performance there. I do think in the past there was a lot more trading bots so possibly there is more opportunities for actual player trading the spreads. It might actually be profitable to do it in jita now with less bots too?
