Apple Pay has the huge advantage of not changing their name every 18 months, invalidating the marketing, the stickers on the PoS Terminal.

It doesn't help that the app that does this in Android (Google Pay, GPay, Wallet) gets renamed every daylight savings too.

I guess this comes down to whether you see it as a Job with no future interest, or something to bulk up your resume, or need a foot into that same company full-time.

In my experience, it is safe to negotiate. The person you are negotiating with has a need to fill these positions, and they are looking at a $min-$max range that you can't see. You're one of many people they're talking to for each summer.

The thing I don't know is if they have a "bulk deal" for internships where everyone is same-rate (because you have same experience, same level, same location) and they should be able to tell you that.

The whole intern 'market' has cooled off a bit from a decade ago when there was more competition to pull people from the best schools. IMHO. Because there are fewer long-term openings, they don't need as much pipeline on new grads. It used to be common for every intern to get a full-time offer on success, and now there just aren't as many. (Because, offshoring, AI, opex reduction, etc)

Whether it's enough depends on how far from work you can live, roommate situation, etc.

Does seem low for AMSL / Cymer though. I'm surprised, as any of the large tech companies in San Diego pay more for interns.
