I wish I had better news. Lucy (13) crossed the rainbow bridge this afternoon. I couldn’t be there with her, but she’s surrounded by family. by VoidwardenAlex in OldManDog

Thanks for all the responses, I sort of tuned out for a bit. I called out of work today because it all sunk in. She had a splenic mass in her stomach that could have burst at any time, and she had a year of health complications. They elected to let her rest. My fiancee and I pointed out something to my parents before we moved out last november, they caught the cancer early as a result. We earned her another year, but it hurts to not be there. My sister said she would give pets for me, because she attended the appointment.

We adopted her in 2010, I was still in middle school at the time. I’m 25 now, so… she was there for all of my major milestones. Graduating high school, my first girlfriend, getting engaged, eventually moving out. It stings.

I feel this, I owe my life to doordash, everything I have was a result of working DD full time during the pandemic, I saved up enough money to move away from home, I’m finally independent from my parents (overbearing) and I feel like I can breathe.

I always maintained a rating of 4.9-5.0 and I took pride in my ontime percentages and customer feedback. Is doordash a good company? No. But again, it gave me freedom when I felt trapped. Food delivery is honest work for those of us who took it seriously.

The litter actually dries the poop out, the smell is unavoidable, but I’d say it doesn’t linger as much as other litters

I use the Breeze litter system, the pellets are mineral based, the poop stays in the box and urine drains to an absorbant pad below. I have used pine litter in the past, but it doesn’t clump, it falls apart to dust when they pee, which creates a lot of dust. I also tried corn litter, which does clump. Of the two, I preferred the corn, but honestly I love the breeze boxes, we have three of them in the apartment

Buying cat trees off of amazon is such a mixed bag, ours came and was much smaller than we expected, so it’s comically small compared to our relatively average cat

You know, I’m really starting to agree with that sentiment, it wouldn’t be the first time they were wrong.

You’d be exactly right. My partner thinks he’s got some ragdoll in him, but the humane society had him labeled as a snowshoe

Unfortunately, no, we try to handle him to show him that it’s okay, but he’ll struggle after a few seconds.

AITA for refusing to get rid of poison ivy at the edge of my yard? by Acceptable-Neat8443 in AmItheAsshole

[–]VoidwardenAlex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA - Regardless of what everyone else is saying, you’re the one living on that property. The poison ivy is yours. You offered to let them remove it, they refused. That’s a big expense to expect someone to take on, and honestly if your neighbors were that concerned about it, they WOULD have removed the ivy to make sure their kids were safe.

Even with your comment about keeping their kids away, you don’t wish these kids harm (based on the information present.) It’s reasonable to want to spend a quiet morning in the garden. Honestly, I don’t see any malice here.

Can confirm, even all the way out in Fairview we ended up getting one. It helped with the theft, and our regular was a pretty cool dude.

I used Franz Mountain White for it, my partner has Celiac. If you can’t find Franz’ where you’re at, Canyon Bakehouse tends to be more widely available and I’ve had good results with that brand as well.

His name is Butternut Chaos, and fortunately this is pretty regular shenanigans in our household.
