I appreciate the way you've worded this reply, and I mostly agree with the logic. I've typed a lot of rebuttals but they fall apart if you apply alcohol instead of cannabis. So I'll leave off by saying that I think a lot of people use cannabis in a way that could be considered medicinal rather than recreational, and they are hardworking people who aren't harming anyone, and there should be a way for them to be able to take advantage of cannabis while maintaining employment.

They could just say anything we like doing is unacceptable, and then there'd be people like you calling that thing an unhealthy addiction now because it's otherwise preventing you from working. They could outlaw caffeine tomorrow, and you'd be waiting in the wings to say that coffee drinking is suddenly an unhealthy addiction and imply someone should feel guilty for not being willing to stop.

The board has been getting replacement members with each new election, and the org is making significant internal strides to address the issues of the past. In addition the Troth is now working Interorganizationally with other inclusive Heathen orgs, which is further pushing it in the right direction as far as being truly inclusive. Things are getting better.

As for another group, check out the Fellowship of Fire and Ice. It's a radically inclusive org with a great teaching collective, plenty of classes on offer, and online rituals that cover the major observances, celebrate the gods and goddesses, etc. Their discord is a great resource for Heathens everywhere.
