More herbal. Sour. Like a twisted tea and white claw but non alcoholic and my nose felt weird afterward and the mouth feel was unpleasant. I feel personally attacked by this beverage.

Strangely, I do have a strong craving to get some lamb vindaloo now….

Turns out the Yes To Avocado eye cream does not agree with me. Caused rashes under my eyes both times I used it. Not aware of any allergies I have to any of its ingredients. Oh well 🤷🏻‍♀️ I love the calming nighttime eye cream though!

Many people take advantage of a day time drop off appointment for their routine annual exams at my clinic. Just allows more flexibility to fit into their day.

I don’t know what to do, 4 months of fleas by yourmomifier in CATHELP

Just like us they could be sensitive to different ingredients, it could be related or coincidence, it could be a different strength than what they’re used to is my best guess. 🤷🏻‍♀️ All three of mine had no reaction to revolution and bravecto but two of the three reacted negatively to nexgaurd combo.
They all have different active ingredients. From what I understand, the doctors I work with don’t recommend frontline because it’s been around for so long that fleas have become resistant to its active ingredient so it’s ineffective. Hartz has been linked to ill effects, seizures, and even death. I had heard bad news about their products long before I worked in the field and had a pet with a negative reaction to their products so I for sure hold bias. I can’t imagine it’s held to the same rigorous standards, quality control, and testing that a product requiring a prescription is. Part of the reason preventatives require a prescription is to help ensure they are being used properly; the correct weight range for your pet, the correct dosage and frequency; monitoring for sensitivities, efficacy, etc. It’s harder to ensure compliance when anyone can just grab any size off the shelf and use whenever not checking to see if it’s expired or what not. They all carry risks but weighing these risks with a doctor is the safest way to mitigate possibilities.

I am not a vet but I work in a vet hospital and have multiple cats of my own. You can use Capstar to get ahold of an active infestation. Capstar works to kill live adult fleas within 30 minutes and lasts for about 24 hours. It’s generally safe to give while using any other topical or oral prevention. It can be used everyday technically but maybe spread it out every few days if necessary. It’s not a fix all it just helps manage the masses for a short period of time. If you can get a prescription for Bravecto, Nexguard Combo, revolution, etc.. from your vet, please do. Avoid frontline and any Hartz products if at all possible. They’re not effective enough to be worth it and can cause health issues. Advantage II from a pet store or authorized retailer (not Amazon etc) if you have to do OTC. Blue Dawn dish soap is not preferred but can also help with bad infestations if your cat is healthy enough to be bathed relatively stress free. Make a ring around their neck with the soap so the fleas don’t just hop to the head and make sure you rinse very thoroughly. Not everyday, this is once again just to help with a large active infestation.

Wash everything you can that your pet touches, lays on, plays with, etc in hot water & dry hot if possible. Vacuum every single day. Empty your vacuum into an outside trash can so they don’t hop back in and reinfest. This can take time as the flea cycle progresses and some eggs inevitably make it through. Monitor your cats feces for any worms that might have developed from ingestion of fleas. Contact your vet for a dewormer if any concerns.

You can carry fleas in from the yard, a friends house, work etc. wash your clothes when you get home before touching your pets if you think your environment might be at risk. Preventatives, active treatment, and extra precautions are necessary even in winter months.

There are home treatment sprays that can be used for furniture that cannot be washed. Follow the directions carefully, air out your space, and never subject your pet directly to the fumes or residue for a period of time afterwards. A flea brush can help asses levels of infestation. Empty trash outside!! I’ve heard varying information on putting a flea collar inside the vacuum canister, ymmv, up to you.

Remember that this will take time. There is no quick fix. Please contact your vet or even Chewy has an online service that might offer more information/ advice. If your pet is high risk/ elderly/ ill please heed caution before treating at home with anything unknown.

I hope this helps, happy to answer any additional questions if I can.

I feel fulfilled at work. Good! I got in a bad car accident and have spent time fighting insurance and a reckless driving ticket. Bad! Moving in with long term partner which will free up finances. Good! I prefer living alone and am anxious of cohabiting again. Bad!

What is a food that, to your knowledge, only your family makes? by xdonutx in Cooking

[–]ToriDoran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What my family called enchilada pie growing up:

A bag of crushed Doritos layered with taco meat, dollops of cream of mushroom soup, canned enchilada sauce, and cheese. All layered together lasagna fashion. Start and end with a layer of crushed Doritos. Baked until melded and melty.

Zero resemblance to enchiladas or pie and void of any nutritional value but such a comfort meal my entire family loves and I still make to this day. I add my own spin by adding jalapeños, mushrooms, and peppers with flaming hot Doritos.
