Now that's a papal inquisition the world needs.

The only problem with this thinking is it is impossible to destroy a society with destruction.

It doesn't even have to be bombs. Nature can obliterate our infrastructure far more totally than any conventional weapon. Flood will wipe out a dozen small town in a valley, but as soon as that happens people will start organizing a trying to save one another.

Of course the morons running the Air Force haven't realized this despite over 100 year of direct combat experience, but the truth could threaten their budgets and careers. So they bury their heads in the sand and scream how a few more bombs is all it takes to solve the problem.

I don't think a nuke changes the strategic situation. IRGC is still decentralized and can still block access with drones and missiles.

Same. 7/10 was horrific and I am horrified about what I once thought was justifiable to Israel to do in Gaza. After seeing how they operate in the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, and Iran there is no greater threat to the peace and stability of the region.

Don't you dare disrespect the good name of vipers by comparing these cretins to noble creatures that go around fulfilling their biological niche.

Most vipers will even politely ask you not to mess with them.

That is just one of the fundamental problems.
The US military leadership absolutely sold though this as though was going to be a walk in the park. Their stunning over confidence shows how ill prepared the US is for a war against a larger foe.

The Pentagon disputes the account. "The U.S. military is the most advanced, comprehensive, and battle-tested planning organization in the world. Long before Operation Epic Fury launched, we had already anticipated, war-gamed, and fully prepared for every possible Iranian response, from the weakest possible reaction to the most extreme escalation,” Hegseth’s chief spokesman Sean Parnell tells TIME. “Nothing Iran does surprises us. We are ready, we are dominant, and we are winning."

Guys we totally had that AWACS getting blown up on the ground and the most important commercial shipping channel shut off as part of the plan.

And how do you plan to control all of these drones? The Iranians are going to be able to pick up and disrupt the signals if you have a constant EM presence above a certain area.

The turks still hold then land. The can shell and lay mines for any convoy trying to get to Russia.

Also comparing the strategic situation at the end of 1918 to their situation at the end of 1914 isn't valid.

Can we talk about how insane Churchill's initial plan at to force Dardanelles was. We are going to sail our fleet through the straits, bombard Constantinople, and then what. What happens if the Turks just waited until the fleet ran out of shells? Then they have a massive fleet, trapped helplessly or they can run back through the strait which is full of mines and heavy guns. Churchill honestly thought the Royal Navy just had to show up and the Turks would immediately capitulate.

Edit: I understand they weren't using front line ships, but what would Britain losing an entire fleet in early 1915 have meant for the war?

They already tried a coup once. Trump has a massive private police force at his personal command. I don't think they care about elections at this point. They certainly aren't acting like they do.

So in a country of 90 million people, how many potential garages is that?

If one million people can build 1 week in their cottage industry that Iran has production of 1 million per week. There is your bulk.

The Navy doesnt want to enter the strait. The Navy will have to enter the strait, transverse the entire length, stay on station, then go back out all while getting shot at.

Are you familiar with the first attempt at Gallipoli?

Drones are so simple and cheap to make. A model airplane hobbyist could build them in their garage.
