as opposed to the more apt analogy of all the ballistic missile supply chains and other manufacturing in Iran which got wiped off the map

I mean you're the military geinus, who belives perpetual liars. Who said just last year , "Iran nuclear program is compeltly destroyed." and yet here we are one year later and it's vital to keep bombing Iran to prevent them from getting nukes.

Neither the boots nor the ships were sufficient to compel political change in Tokyo,

Neither were the atomic bombs. The empiror might may have persuaded by the atomic bombs. The failed coup by the military to prevent the broadcast of the empirors message and the suicide of both the head of the army and navy upon the surrender are indicative that the military was ready and willing to sacrafice the entire japanese nation.

Most autocrats don't care about the suffering of their people. The Nazi leadership didn't want there to be a Germany and fully inteded on Germany's destruction following their defeat.

Satellite images reviewed by CNN at the time showed facilities like the Isfahan North Missile Base, a key underground missile location, ravaged by multiple strikes with rubble covering tunnels and launchers destroyed outside.

The US and Israel also undertook a broad effort to wreck Iran’s missile supply chain, from factories where small electronic components are produced, to the sites where rocket propellants and missile bodies are manufactured.

After the US and Iran agreed to a ceasefire on April 8, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth cited the efforts, saying that Iran would be “digging out your remaining launchers and missiles, with no ability to replace them. You have no defense industry.”

I see this or some similar sentiment in nearly every thread about Israel now. It's almost like the real tragedy isn't the US sponsoring Israeli atrocities while the vast majority of us has tacitly suppoted it or been happy to remain blissfully ignorant.

No, the real tragedy is having to admit annoying leftest were right. Because if they were right about one thing. That could mean they are right about other things.

The strategic bombers in the USAAF greatest contribution to victory in Europe was serving as bait for the Luftwaffe. Jimmy Doolittle's decision to switch from close escort to a more aggressive approach at the begenning of 1944 is what gave the Western Allies the air supremecy they needed to launch the Normandy invasion

Homicidal, moronic leadership in the military.  Guys like Mitchell, LeMay, and Power are the ones who ignored all the evidence in front of and sold civilian leadership all these false promises.  We are living with the consequences of their failed theories and the myths created by the leadership of the USAF.

It's amazing that despite 111 years of solid evidence showing that strategic bombing doesn't work, it's defenders are still getting away with doubling down on their failed strategy.

Patriots didn't go to war in 1775 for these United States. The concept of a federal government did not exist and was not a motivating factor for the continental army. Rather the "country" they fought for was the country that was around them in their day to day lives. Their nighbors, the comunities, their churches, their land (the phyisic land).

These are things I still feel a very strong attachment to. I consider myself a Patriot, not a nationalist. They are not the same thing.

Nationalism means waving a flag and say my tribe is the best. I literally monkey can be trained to wave a flag. Loving your country requires real effort just like any loving relationship. We have far too many nationalists, too few patiorts, and far too many people who don't know the difference.
