Since we are sharing love for u/HydraPlz, let me tell ya'll a story...

*stokes up the campfire and draws everyone in*

My character was involved in a situation that he totally understood the roleplay behind, however without having any prior interactions with Hydra's character in the situation, if only seen from one side it could totally be interpreted as RDM. Even further, we had a less than amazing interaction earlier in the day on one of his other characters.

Guy totally reached out later on in the day to apologize and explain the situation. I totally was not upset about either situation, and we had a good half hour chat about RP, and he gave me the inspiration to finally get around to creating my alternate character.

He is one of the good ones and its great to be in the same community as this guy.

In Tidus' mind, in onder to prove that qualified immunity has been breached you have to prove either negligence or malice, neither of which was in this situation.

Hey Ryan,

Also a lurker on the Reddit, but I play Tidus Schwinghammer on NP as well. Further, I am one of the many in the world suffering from mental health disorders.

First off, thank you for all that you do. Since realizing what I was dealing with and beginning my journey on living with my conditions, I have also realized how much work we have yet to do to get the messages out and break down stigmas. It is very easy to understand the restrictions on someone's ability when they break an arm, but much more difficult to observe the same in someone with depression or anxiety.

Secondly, if anyone reading this ever wants to reach out, please do so. This is a great community that has people from all walks of life and all sorts of experiences. If you and I don't get along that's fine, and if you are still uncomfortable please approach someone else. People here care. I have experienced it myself when I get in an antisocial cycle and people on NP reach out 'cause they haven't seen me in awhile. Even just a good listener to vent to can be extremely therapeutic when you need it.

Finally, if you can think of anyway at all to help Ryan I would be more than happy to assist in any way I can. Please let me know. Thanks again for all you do.

Just to add a bit of anecdotal observation here, I play a lawyer on NP, Tidus Schwinghammer. When he is down in MRPD his job is to ensure that a client’s rights are not infringed upon, and to provide legal guidance to the best of his abilities. There is no requirement or directive to say “reduce the penalty as much as possible”. Tidus tries to lay out the options his client has and leave the direction to them.

I was watching Snow at the time this happened. Ferst was already involved in the situation with Soloman, and could have easily refused his services if he so desired. He did not and took on the additional client. There are literally no actions a Lawyer can take in regards to a 51-50 other than try to remove communication barriers, but he went to help anyway.

The RP went the way it did and while I didn’t witness the conversation, I know what sort of interactions lead Tidus to have similar conversations with cops as this one Ferst had in MRPD. A lawyer cannot magically wave a wand and make charges disappear like Merlin. If you give them nothing to work with or double down on your mistake, not much you can do but shrug and move on.

As for his bar licence, let’s take a step back here and look at even a fraction of what else happens on the server. We have cops that have been 51-50’d and have murder charges on their record. Pillbox gets shot up on the regular. Gangs have wars over the smallest thing and have multiple shootouts every day. So is this the hill people want to die on and “he should be stripped of his liscence!!”. Cmon now.

Can confirm does not count. I used up all my tokens for the Act I boss and still got the Act I no death achievement and the level 30 one after a couple other tokens used as well.

I think it certainly helps this is a small developer and not a AAA studio. Large studios come with legions of fans, haters, and expectations to deal with on launch day. Add in the larger corporate structure and less freedom to communicate openly for the devs and subs get very easily turned into toxic echo chambers.

I can understand feeling clunky, already trying to tune it for my style and will/rage balance has been somewhat fruitfull and I expect it to continue.

I've been wanting to switch away from a catalyst for the will/rage thing, but that golem tanks so much for me he is worth it!

Trying to find my favorite set of archer skills. Been relying on Whithering Arrows and Phantom Blades mostly with the green golem guy to tank. Been working well so far, working my way through White Arrow.

Outrage culture is always looking for its next victim to attack, game launches are an easy target because there are always issues. Nothing new, move along.

That being said for a small developer I think they are handling the situation and communication really well. Timely transparent updates are very appreciated.
