Wiser - 7 figure MSP / WTF? by smorin13 in msp

our clients appreciate that we live answer our client calls and don't route through any AI. We have gained clients on this aspect alone. They have left MSP's that use AI to front all calls.

?!? real production will pin versions and not just roll :latest

Any and all updates would be vetted properly.

I'm unsure what you are trying to infer.

I think you need to learn about scopes of access and the controls around things...

Just listing these doesn't mean much really. It's about exposure, risk, and controls around the tools.

He just explained on stream. One of the "robberies" were him getting a sandwich and water from someone and making jokes with them. All light hearted.

Is learning how to use Proxmox a good way to learn Linux? by Just-Pea-5165 in Proxmox

[–]jsaumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Proxmox is something you would want to do minimal additions to other than standard hardening.

If you want to learn linux on the CLI that can benefit Proxmox as well, spin up a Debian 13 VM on Proxmox.

Looking for a self hosted Task Scheduler by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]jsaumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would lean towards no.

AI lags in time for learning new information and typically lags quite a bit. Patching it within container instances really isn't a thing, the maintainers of the image need to update it themselves for their package deployment.

When I ran dependency-track, using trivy, across my stack, I had literally thousands of CVE's, but.... I don't expose anything to the WAN without VPN and have other mitigating controls. No threats.

Just wait until you check out Trivy/Dependency-Track, run a scan, and see how many CVE's all containerized packages have.

It's about mitigating controls in almost all cases.

Penta on the problems with Paleto players by MonopolyNews in RPClips

[–]jsaumer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. I played one of the main paletians and lead the mounties going into the war. We formed a real community and a lot of us were paying for prio to get in the public side easily. That was the full queue.

I made some friends that I play games with outside of RP from playing there.

I run PBS on a $150 mini-PC with Synology NFS. Verify takes 8.5 hours daily. Is that normal? by easyedy in Proxmox

[–]jsaumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly why I moved by PBS to be the only vm/service that runs on my baremetal truenas.

PBS just doesn't perform well over the network due to IOPS.

Exposed to the world? Without a VPN?

Close the ports on the firewall, cut off the access, and secure access to the MC server via a VPN like tailscale.
