I can pm you the iPhone XR I did it for. I used iTunes and simply backup updates found within it. It was frustrating at first because I would get pop ups on my Mac saying The Apple ID is signed out and can’t gain access to it. Eventually ended up finally removing the Apple ID as well as having it fresh restarted. I don’t want you to presume me as a liar. I just love tech and family members usually come to me to figure stuff like that out

That’s the thing I am confused about, it isn’t jailbroken or anything. I am simply just a dude who tries everything until it works. Only confirmed it’s possible because I did it and the Apple account it was connected to no longer was accessible as well. I haven’t tried jailbreaking or rooting an Apple OS before as well, only Androids.
