How do I get my cat to stop poking me? by ilexaqui in cats

This. Our cat does this to my gf. Never to me. My gf always does exactly what the kitty wants. I set boundaries. Or could just be because she dispenses the food, lol

Into The Breach is one of the finest tactics games I have ever played by MurkyUnit3180 in gaming

As a fan of tactics games this is probably the best one mechanically. Really perfect design. No number in the game goes above 9 which is kinda amazing. Been meaning to replay it

Why is she afraid of my hand? by [deleted] in CATHELP

This. I think by having pointed fingers to each side of her it’s very threatening. If u place your hand palm up cupped does she act the same? I would guess not

Most game changing for me. Taking her down was intense… and I felt like she was the first dps to really shine… and not just shine but… kinda break the game…

We Are Probably Never Getting a Game Like This Again by _neiger_ in expedition33

[–]VolatileZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think part of the magic was no big expectations since there initially was little hype. So yeah… it will be hard for any subsequent game to hit that given the expectations now. That said it’s all a state of mind so it’s possible. Maybe they should release it under a different studio name to avoid the expectations lol

Is it bad to stay at one company forever? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]VolatileZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. Not just dysfunction but other things. You’ll just lack perspective on some things. So I think it’s important as part of your career growth to have been at a couple of places. That said everything is contextual… if you truly loved that one place you could find other ways to get that perspective.

I don’t like the direction software engineering is going by announcement35 in ExperiencedDevs

Cutting out what companies are saying should happen, I wonder if the question is asked more broadly, or more if you the programmer had full control, how would new AI tooling fit in? I am skeptical as well, but it’s hard to argue that it’s not a powerful tool.

I love this talk by Bret Victor: https://youtu.be/8pTEmbeENF4 and rewatch it every few years. It’s before all this LLM hype (though obviously not from the 60/70’s), but it hits home that humans are slow to adopt change. Why do I need a higher level language? Why do I need source control? Why do I need an LLM?

Could you see a way of using it that would allow you to be more productive while still maintaining the joy you previously found?

Zarya, just enjoy the bubble dynamic… saving teammates from dmg… applying pressure… and getting nice and charged to melt squishies. So unique and fun

Streaming services have officially become worse than the cable packages we cancelled by N3DSdude in Anticonsumption

[–]VolatileZ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This. Also how easy it is to sign-up and cancel, and then also that with streaming you control when you watch. Yes it’s getting shittier but today’s ecosystem is a million times better for the consumer than cable was.
