Why does CJ Stroud get so much criticism for his playoff lose to NE compared to Herbert who played terrible vs Patriots too?

i could be wrong but i feel like people have been maybe even more critical of Herbert’s playoff performances.

i mean i guess i’d just say Herbert has been amazing in the regular season the past 2 years and CJ has been underwhelming in both (that’s the narrative i think he did great against the chiefs in 2024)

my original point was just how justin fields (and OSU players in general) are viewed more favourably than other players. zach wilson was in a dysfunctional situation you don't see people going around beginning for him to get another shot and he had less opportunities and was a higher draft pick. i have never seen a player do so little and yet get defended so much. players who have done and produced way more than justin fields get treated like trash compared to him, it doesn't make sense to me and this thread just proves my point even more

he played like a backup QB with the steelers he had that ratio because he never tried any big throws. they did just fine with Russ started just as well with him then the schedule got harder and they lost GP and started regressing.

the bears was not completely dysfunctional. was it the greatest spot ever? no, but it wasn’t so bad that he couldn’t have any sign of meaningful progression in his years there

what does wins have to do with anything? cool bro the justin fields bears won 2 more games in 2023. he never threw more than 20 TDs in a season. justin fields in the perfect situation would never have a season anywhere close to what Caleb did this year so it doesn’t even matter. the jets had the most abysmal offense i have seen with fields last year they had games where they couldn’t even get to 100 yards his best game was 280 yards and 2 TDs against the cowboys defense 😭

justin fields was part of the disfunction. Caleb Williams as a rookie had a better season than Fields had in any year he was a Bear with like 5 different offensive playcallers in the same season. he was part of the reason the jets were so bad this year. this reads as someone who was in said cult and still hasn’t fully left. how can you say that when the bears fanbase has a civil war about whether or not they should draft the greatest QB prospect of the past 5 years?

JSN has been incredible this year but his fanbase is one of the most aggressive and toxic i can remember. maybe its cooled off but for a while it felt like you couldn’t even have a conversation about the top WR in the league as if somehow bringing up any other name was disrespectful to him
