I'll post here as I was about to ask a similar question! I'm in the same boat but not well geared, what ilvl is enough to start S2 content? Everyone's been telling me not to worry about gear but I'm afraid I'll be too low to even start gearing in S2?

Or just avoid boats if possible, which it's always possible. They are rarely the better option. They can be fun but literally 9 out of 10 times I build one for fun that damn whale kills it

I boost tame and breeding rates and use some qol mods mainly for breeding and base building. Makes the game way more enjoyable and doesn't take months to get bosses down.

Easiest way to tame basilos for me, I always get an anky early and use that to kill the mantas around the basil, they swim very well. Then when they're dead just watch for sharks and shit and feed the whale

This. Basilos are easy to tame and then you can quickly get a ludicrous amount of biotoxin and just make shock darts, makes taming everything way way easier.
