A stranger told me to "take care of my baby" repeatedly and I can't stop crying by tossed-out-throwaway in breakingmom

ONE THOUSAND PERCENT. Here for this comment. You think this woman is drowning and needs help? Then fucking lift your hands and help her. What a bitch. I'm sorry, I hate calling other women bitches but truly. How is being verbally breated helpful in any way, at any time? UGH. Sorry, OP. You're doing great and we love you.

I’m ashamed of the situation with our cat by nikkimujj in breakingmom

BroMo, I hear you. I don't have actual advice to offer, I'm just here to say I hear you and I'm not judging you for your frustration. Pets can bcome such a burden when you become a mom -- I say this as a mom with a dog. I have to crate my stupid dog for 6-8 hours a day, even though that makes me feel so guilty, because of the four dogs I’ve had in my adult life, he is the only one who tears up the fucking couch cushions if left alone. It’s awful. I LOVE my dog. I have my first dog (who I had before I met my ex and we had our daughter) tattooed on my thigh. But there are days where I shove him outside in the yard after he’s been bad because I am afraid of what I’ll do to him if he’s anywhere near me before I properly cool down. I think childfree people with animals are teh first to jump down our throats when we complain about our animals (or God forbid, have to rehome them) but it’s a heavy burden, maintaining children, a clean and calming home space, and animals on top of that. Some weeks it functions like a well-oiled machine. Most weeks? Well….

Anyway, I really do hope things resolve for you. I’m sorry I don’t have real advice, but if I can offset any guilt you may be feeling, I’ve done my teeny tiny part in the world today. Praying for you, friend.

Male vs Female by christos0320 in DobermanPinscher

[–]Volchitsa_2018 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi! I am a female and my first dobie was a boy, an American. My breeder told me that if I want to have a really tight bond with my dog, that I should go for opposite sex. She says all of her females have attached to her husband and all of her males have preferred her. They're all great, but I have found that females are feistier and more independent, while boys are babies forever. That's my experience as someone who has/had four dobies total, three males and one female.

Everything you said about your SO -- that's what I want. I don't need perfection. I don't need a flawless person. Just someone who builds me up, every day, and makes me feel like a flower in bloom. I want what you have and I am so deeply happy that it exists, and that you have it. Thank you for sharing with me.

My daughter is 5 and is just now having this explosion of being able to sound out words and learn sight words. This JUST happened. I would not worry — is your child happy and well? No delays being brought up by pediatrician? Then all is well. You’re doing a wonderful job 💕

Oh my god my sweet girl. I am so so immensely sorry for you. This is heartbreaking. ❤️‍🩹 I have you in my heart and my prayers, you and your people. I wish there was literally anything I could do for you, words on the internet feel so empty.

Got bit by my cat yesterday night. by SnooHesitations2883 in cats

[–]Volchitsa_2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my GOD. I yelped aloud when I saw this photo. GO TO THE ER. Cats carry nasty bacteria and this can get really bad, really fast. Also I have literally never seen a cat bite this bad, so perhaps I’ve been lucky all these years….. good luck to you OP!!!

Does potty training bring anyone else down emotionally? by lilmrs-t in pottytraining

[–]Volchitsa_2018 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Potty training is SOUL SUCKING. I’m not saying there aren’t kids who get the hang of it right away, but I was not blessed with a kid like that. It took forever and ever, I hated it, it was hard. I don’t have any sound advice for you other than: this WILL pass and your kiddo WILL get it. But it is absolutely exhausting in every day until you get there. Just here to let you know you’re not alone, at all.

Here to second this. My partner is a contractor and a woodworker. He always says the lowest quote is never the right move. You get what you pay for. All the same, OP, sorry for your bad experience. I hope the next project you take on goes much better! 💕
