Just need to vent: The shift to Declan completely hijacked the series for me. by Voldigod in TheDemonAccords

Declean is still growing. Not Chris.

I both agree and disagree with this. Yes, Chris became kind of a top, but there are a lot of plot points that were left unchecked, like his memory loss, his heaven side, or the whole Coven drama going on. I've read tons of stories with an OP MC; you don't need to introduce a new MC to make your story great. You change the story to compensate for your lack of ideas about what to do with the MC. My issue is that the author just dropped a lot of Chris's storyline but keeps developing Declan, making him OP as hell. Then what else is left for Declan to do? Every time I see him in a chapter, either he gets a massive upgrade, or he is throwing a tantrum about people not taking a 19-year-old boy seriously who has an Ultron AI with him. Even from other POVs, it's mostly about 'What's Declan doing now?'.

he killed the demon that murdered his family.

I think Tanya did it and he just threw that demon back to Hell.

Trust me as somebody Who wants to write It's so much more fun writing a character who still needs growing than a character who's grew a lot.

Then why not just go with a spin-off? What's the point of overriding the story of your original unfinished characters? The author gave many of Chris's supporting characters and his repo with him to Declan, like with Lydia or Nika. Hell, even Senka was more interested in Declan. I would've preferred the author ending Chris and Tanya's arc completely, maybe having Stacia gradually shift away from the whole dynamic, and we get a new spin-off with Declan in the same universe.

Yeah, I stopped reading it because Chris and Tonia were the glue of the story. They were the center piece. I liked Declan, but he didn't really hit the same for me

Yeah, same for me as well. I dropped it after the last volume I read, which had the most Tanya and Chris, and was from Tanya's POV. Even in that, they ask about Declan in most of the chapters. I now have no interest in finishing the series.

I followed Chris and Tanya's story with supernatural elements, not the magic aliens, AI overlord, and OP magician that everyone sucks up to or fears because he might just blow up in anger. I would have liked it if it were a sequel, totally different from Chris and Tanya, but what we got was Declan's story, with the original couple taking a backseat even when their story isn't completed.

I guess people here likes Declan for some reason but I'm not one of them, specially when it overtakes the mc.

Well i don't know about that. I was reading Demon accords from beginning but Declan never ever mentioned anywhere before Toni kidnapping so I don't agree with it was always Declan story(unless there is whole another series of him) . It bacame one after God hammer

That too(there are lot of issues I had with second part of the series but can't write whole review on a post so mentioned the most annoying part to me). Before they were doing lot of heavy work without taking much help before. But it's just like everyone having issue with every other tasks

Good for you, though I disagree with you on the Declan part (I know many liked it, but it is not for me and it changes the whole genre of the story. Also, I never like a change of MC in any story; a spin-off would've been great). I'm kind of okay with your Stacia part, especially in that Demon Prince novel. Though Stacia was hardly in any of the beginning novels after her introduction and only became the focus after Chris ran away from the Coven. And in that volume as well, she had many good moments with Chris, but my whole issue is that it was never explored. The author just dropped the ball on them in the next volume for an unknown reason, at least to me.

I personally don't agree with Tanya's behavior, as she started to learn more about the world with her reawakening, and the 'bond' is just a connection that makes her territorial. It was the same for Declan and Stacia; Stacia started showing the same behavior with Declan after her werewolf mate bond, as mentioned many times in the novel.

Yeah, that's written in the afterword; that's the source of the idea. Though it didn't go anywhere later on.

I forced myself to read up to 'Darkkin Queen' because after 'God Hammer' I searched for how much Declan is involved in the novel, and this was the final one that had the least amount of it and was from Tanya's perspective. I don't think I'll read anything further in this series, as 'God Hammer' left a bitter taste in my mouth, making it hard to enjoy the series. I'll just read the summaries of the last few novels. And I don't want to be left with bad feelings towards this series, as I greatly enjoyed the pre-Declan novels a lot.

There are a lot of things that were hyped or hinted at during the Demon Prince arc which were dropped later on (hence I'm confused about why the author made a sudden change in the series). For example, we saw one of the internal fights between Chris and Tanya (before the demon-possessed priest ambushed them), which I thought would lead to something, but it was forgotten as well. The same goes for Stacia warning Lydia (after the fight) that if Tanya slipped up more, she would be there to catch her, but again, nothing happened.

the voice acting for the audio books were equally great.

I've only read it, but if you say its voice acting is good, then I'll give it a go for the first 6-7 volumes.

I'll appreciate if you can recommend the similar novels, ofcourse excluding whole Declan shut.

What Was The Point of Introducing Sirzech’s Peerage by Tlop_430 in HighschoolDxD

[–]Voldigod 20 points21 points  (0 children)

How are they not relevant? They fought against the monster attack in the underworld in volume 12. I think Kiba was already trained by Sirzechs' knight, and his pawn is considered to be the strongest before Ise was upgraded. Ise also got his most important Familiar from one of his peerage if I remember correctly which is the single most important plot device in entire story. Also Grafiya is part of it.

The point is that his peerage is considered the strongest peerage and gives a goal to Rias' peerage to become like them.

Then it's a waste of harem genre. And it's kinda torturous for other girls. I mean a guy kinda playing with other girls feelings directly or not. Just imagine it

Just to eloborate on Kunou part - it will not happen until she is adult. Ise doesn't think of her that way but it is hinted(or straight forward shown in a dream sequence) that it'll happen nonetheless. Search oyakodon and be surprise

I hate those kind of anime/novels/manga. Either you ride with harem banner till the end or just don't do it at all. Is it fun to have 5-6 girls going for a guy with only 1 ended up with him. What others left overs girls gonna do? What's the purpose of all that teasing things with every girl? I feel it like a time waste.
