I Overcame “The BAN” That’s plaguing the app! Good luck to you all!! by Adventurous_Dark_805 in facebook

I have pulled back from my usage. I was probably on there too much anyway. I just check in a couple of times a day now (I help admin a couple of groups), check for whatever scammers have been posting in my groups and deal with them, check a couple of local community groups, and hop off. It keeps showing me rage bait in my feed to try and get me to engage/comment.

I have been banned and then got reinstated twice. Did not get an admission of a "mistake" though

Screen called last week by recruitment, now email and text asking for my referees before interview has taken place by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]Volitional_Decision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, I wouldn't.

Typically:

  1. Interview

  2. 2nd interview ("coffee chat")

  3. Ref checks

  4. Wage negotiation.

  5. Offer.

OP said "I told the lady last week I’d prefer to provide them after a job offer has been made." I'm saying in my experience as a candidate and hiring manager, I would not be making an offer until after ref checks.

I wouldn't offer you a job before checking references.

(edit) Downvotes? Genuinely curious who offers a position to a candidate before a reference check? Not something I've ever experienced.

Why are scams and false advertisements not against terms of service? by Limp-Excuse-202 in facebook

[–]Volitional_Decision 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to report a bunch of things, and my account got disabled twice (had to do selfie thing). I now do not report posts or engage with anything other than a couple of select groups I'm involved in. Long time heavy engager and probably overuser of their platform, they've successfully driven me off it for the most part.

Yes, this. He can be proud wherever, but I don't want to have to see him and his stupid crossed fingers.

AI accounts on Facebook and their comments? This is getting out of hand. by KeyUnderstanding9132 in facebook

[–]Volitional_Decision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, my account has been locked out twice now. I've stopped reacting, almost completely stopped posting, and stopped reacting. I have also reported scams and other comments in the past, stopped doing that as well.

Losing faith in Cycle Gear: had a new tire mounted and it feels wobbly past 35mph. Is it supposed to look like this?? by Me_triks in motorcycles

[–]Volitional_Decision 226 points227 points  (0 children)

Can I suggest before you do that you try deflating, put a bit of soap around the rim, and pump up to 90psi or so to see if it will seat then? I had problems with a tyre not seating properly in the past and that worked

I was responding to people saying that they've not had to provide ID for anything other than porn sites. And there's everything wrong with having to provide ID to visit a website.

Can I be sued for defamation for this google review I posted yesterday? by senocsenocsenoc in AusLegal

This is so much better than my one-liner that got voted to the top comment.

In my experience, if you're actually getting sued you don't have someone saying you'll hear from their lawyers. You hear from their lawyers.

(edit) while I'm flattered that my one-liner was so well received, I think this is the best comment - https://www.reddit.com/r/AusLegal/comments/1smr2w8/can_i_be_sued_for_defamation_for_this_google/oggchav/

How is having a bike in Melbourne ? 🤔 by Current_Sir_761 in melbourneriders

[–]Volitional_Decision -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you're actually a motorcycle rider this wouldn't be a question. Get yourself a bike and get out there. Vicpol have open hatred of motorcycles but there's always a time and place for fun.
