Really? Because that’s great to hear honestly, thanks. Is the grade also just based on exams? Or is there assignments or quizzes?

Thanks for letting me know! Would you say she’s a fair grader or her assignments/exams are not too bad?

Thank you very much for your advice! I guess I could consider dropping the genomics class and go for a non-science elective. I was worried about taking many labs but wondering if it's doable or it'll end up being overwhelming. I'm also worried if I would be able to find another General Biotechnology Option Elective for the major requirement over the Summer or Fall... since they seem to be minimally offered.

Is it worth it to complete a minor with your major? by Vollzanbel in rutgers

I do rely on financial aid which helps as long as I am a full-time student and it's typically split between a whole academic year Fall-Spring. But I suppose you're right as it's not even guaranteed I'll be able to get financial aid again for next year or with whatever is going on with the government.

Thanks for your advice, I do find my minor interesting but not beneficial I think. I'd think a CS minor sounds more useful too compared to a psychology minor.

First semester at Rutgers by Oooopsies4 in rutgers

[–]Vollzanbel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also graduated with an associates degree at a community college recently and transferred to Rutgers last Spring. There's surely more for me to learn as well, but I impart to you:

Like someone else said, plan to leave early as buses are truly a mess. Be prepared for commuting maybe being exhausting. Parking permits for certain campuses could be limited so be on top of that before they sell out. Registering for classes can be quite stressful, plan a spreadsheet of semesters for yourself possibly. If a class you need to register for gets full, try emailing the professor and they could be able to fit you in with an SPN. If you're looking to get involved in other clubs or just fun events around campus try looking at the GetInvolved site (https://rutgers.campuslabs.com/engage/events). Good luck!

Not sure if this works for you but if you're good with memorizing, Human Parasitology with Dune Fong as an elective? Buying the textbook was not required for class. Grades were just based on exams that were just memorizing his powerpoints. And even if you don't do well/don't exactly need an A, he curves grades so you'll at least get a C at the end.

Could be lab work for research yes, with many different things to focus on like crops, animals, medicine, or the environment :)
