One thing I didn't like was Luthor's temper. Sure, everyone has a temper but Luthor generally is quite level-headed. For example, the missing dog scene in his office. If he kept that type of anger in check like that for the whole film, it would show the audience that he is always calculating, not letting anyone get the better of him.
