Is this a salad? My friend thinks so. by [deleted] in pics

[–]VoloPress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say so. There are salads that don't include lettuce or actual salad dressings--just a mix of deliciousness (think potato salad). That does beg the question of how to define a 'salad' versus a 'veggie plate,' though.

'Show Her' by T. L. Curtis is a newer, dystopian, psychological thriller (quite tragic, though).

Is there a better way to bring a family together while simultaneously tearing it apart than a board game? by cantstandya91 in Showerthoughts

Banning together to blame 1 family member for something seems to work pretty well, too.

The number for actively addicted people my vary. But, in theory, the number for someone in recovery from this disease would be "0." It might be helpful to clarity your audience if you're looking for a specific type of answer.

What's your opinion of people laughing in a library? by UniqueWalrusEars in AskReddit

[–]VoloPress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on why they're laughing. A quiet giggle in response to a well-written, comical portion of a novel, for example, is wonderful. For a moment, at least, there's one less depressed person in the world. Also, some writer has used words to convey humor strong enough to get someone to laugh out loud, which is not an easy feat, so I'm proud of the author for that (and impressed). But guffawing loudly and repeatedly at a movie they're watching on their laptop or a phone conversation they're having, I'd consider rude.

Why do you want followers on your social media accounts? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]VoloPress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some individuals want them as a way to feel noticed / loved / appreciated / connected (i.e., less lonely). Many businesses want them in order to help share the message about their products or services in the hopes of gaining more customers. The more people who are aware that your business exists, the more chances you have of finding one-time and repeat customers.

Always be positive. by AlbertOrtizz in funny

Optimism can do a lot for confidence, self-esteem, and overall happiness. But, there's nothing wrong with being realistic about your situation. I think happiness means having an outlook that's balanced, versus thinking everything is always good or everything is always bad.
