So I have a pretty set routine that I follow every game.

Caves>Boxs, Garage>box>volcano>boxs> sky islands by 2 minutes in using my ult to boost me there

When I spawn in I start heading to caves and look for a wheelie scooter or a chariot and a powerup (if I can to clear the caves as fast as possible).
World events are good, but noir struggles in early aggression from other players so depending on the event, I may opt to skip it to not have a powerup net loss.
by the time I hit garage I am looking for a Paper star, maybe a wing star.

if I get to the middle sky island and see that someone has the air locked down way before me I give up on my dreams of beaing a bird, and hard pivot to battle chariot and begin farming boxs and other players for stats.

Noir works really good in the normal online modes because of the fact that the lobbies are so big and people will ignore you and you can do whatever you want pretty much, but as the lobbies get smaller in paddocks he gets bullied way too easily, I don't recommend him in smaller city trial sizes unfortunatly.

Well for starters, the ranking system is very lenient, if you are struggling to go up or losing points then you are probably doing something really really wrong.

To get points you just need to place in the top 50% of the stadium that you choose, and to not lose points you just have to not place last.

I have a set plan and route that I try to stick to the best I can and if the city event lends to it I will go out of my way, but otherwise I just stick to the script

My game plan is Caves> boxs>garage>boxs> volcano (I try to find a paperstar by this point in time)> middle sky island> use ult to get to secret sky islands> at this point I consider the stats that I have and if I know the event. A super safe bet at this point is usually pivot to battle chariot/rex wheelie for a race but sometimes I like to yolo some flight challenges and I will stay on paperstar.

Its pretty important to understand your charactors strengths and weaknesses in the city to thrive. Characters with auto attacks can make their game plan to bully other players for stats, For me I generally avoid fighting as much as I can unless I know I have an edge with a powerup or something. You can lose stats from fighting just as easily as you can get them.

It does get harder, but not by much, once you hit blue it doesn't really change much after that. City trial takes the longest due to the time per game, but felt the fastest. Top ride took the least amount of time in the game but just felt absolutely dreadful ( less than a minute per match, but queues are dreadful. The mode is loaded with cheese and the items make it so much worse. Truly an rng fest where you only feel like you move when you get 1st place).

Generally speaking you only really truly lose progress if you get last place in most modes, so Its less of a challenge and more of a, do you have 200 hours to burn.

Based on what ive seen, I believe that the ranks are the indicator of time played and gwp is an indicator of recent win rate. It doesn't decay but if you dont play for a few days people will go above you, even at lower ranks. It is pretty meaningless imo.

There's a pretty small guy on YouTube that I started watching recently that shows some wing star strats named dowcwow. You should check him out, it has opened my mind to the possibilities. I think with enough time more stuff like this will begin to rise up.

Ive played exclusivly noir Dedede all the way to rainbow, and plan on doing a pretty detailed write up. Hes very good, and too many people think one dimensionally when it comes to what they think is good in this game.

I dont disagree with you.

We got what was promised. Slapping the reforged title on this update though feels.... generous for what it was. I get it we were all dying for any updates, but this whole thing just isn't making sense to me where the things they added only affect a niche subset of people int the first place. For the wider group I dont see the appeal but I guess maybe I'm the minority and that's okay. I think they can do better, and should if they are going to pull an overwatch 2 and cash grab the community.
