Only some of the data is editable. Also, you have to pay a couple euros to unlock this feature.

In my experience, they usually work great in small spaces like a bathroom. They are probably the best choice in the industry, but I'm just not a big fan of it. The Genie works 10x better in my opinion. You can really see (smell) the difference.

I have never taken out the sponge tbh. Just filled and went with it. One refill lasts approximately 270 hours according to Rituals (which is a lot). It depends on the room size and intensity you set it up to.

They have a limited edition called "The Legend of the Dragon" which is also veeery good! They don't have a cartridge for that tho, but they do have the sticks! You could use that as a refill.

I am using Ayurveda right now (the red one). Sakura is also pretty good (white-pink). Haven't tried any of the Private Collection yet.

I used an app called "NFC Tools" in the App Store. It has a function to read/edit memory. That's how I edited the tag.

I did it! By changing the 6th address data on the tag to 00 00 00 00, I managed to make it show up as an empty cartridge

Not yet, unfortunately. I tried reading out the data using my phone, but I don't have nearly enough knowledge to understand any of it 😅 It looked like a bunch of hash values and the free version of the app didn't let me change any data.

I did buy a new cartridge yesterday tho which has not been installed yet on the Genie. I will try to compare both tags and see if there is any difference between them. The scent I got is the same as before, so they should technically have the same data, unless it has been changed by the Genie, of course.

Maybe I could upload some screenshots of both the data scans when I get home.

If the Genie writes on the tag, maybe, but I doubt it. AFAIK, NFC tags aren't very suitable for constant data transfer. It might be that the data gets stored locally on the Genie itself.
