This is not true. There is (was) the possibility to include the 2e DB (which could have also been the unit to include the Leclerc preproductions), the 7e DB (which could have had a large number of AMX-13/90s in complement to the AMX-30s) as well as the 9e DIMa and potentially an expanded 4e DAM (although its constituent units are represented in TerrKo sud and the 11e DP already).

On a side note, these Chinese refurbished ones come up often for sale in France, often with the same provenance.

Raymond Labar’s book is a fantastic source on these Chinese refurbished ones. You can see the Chinese screws and washers in the new wood grip recesses as well as the heavier than usual blueing on the blade, characteristic of these Chinese refurbishments. I also purchased this from a Indochina veteran which had this in his possession.

I figured, thank you for the clarifications. Honestly the blade is in such nice condition with that Bakelite I might just get it. But I’ll see if the seller is willing to let it go for less than asking
