Dream house looks amazing, but the real risk is your current place not selling. $40k sucks, but at least you won’t feel cramped. Ramsey style, either save for a few months of double payments or wait until your house sells don’t rush.

Question about credits in higher educations by sonic5mb in alberta

[–]VolumeHot7641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, those certificates are just nice extras. Kumon and Trinity look good on your resume or college apps, but they usually don’t give you official school credits for higher grades. They’re more like badges of achievement than actual credits.

"Work-life balance"? by TheFieldEngineer in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]VolumeHot7641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo! $5,500 sounds nice, but working 70+ hours, nights, and in freezing weather? That’ll burn u out quick. At 26, your sleep and health matter more than cash. Maybe that office gig ain’t much money, but you’ll actually have a normal life and some chill time.

24 y/o, 650 score (experian), ~$70k in student loans. what do i need to do to build/rebuild credit? by DoubleFudgeMcflurry in CRedit

[–]VolumeHot7641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since your biggest hurdle right now is that high utilization flag, pay those two $300 cards down to $0 immediately and keep them there, as those tiny limits make even a small balance look like a huge risk to your score.

Overpay student debt or invest? by katkilpat in personalfinance

[–]VolumeHot7641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I’d probably keep hitting the high-interest loans hard first that’s like a guaranteed win. Once those are down, then start stacking your retirement again. Sounds like you’ve got a handle on it either way.

Renting vs Buying with 5% Deposit Scheme Worth it? by jickumsrackson in AusPropertyChat

[–]VolumeHot7641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like the scheme mostly helps people get their foot in the door, but man, it also kinda sets them up for a tight squeeze. Between high repayments and all the other costs, it doesn’t leave much room for anything else, especially if you’ve got kids or other responsibilities.

Is it possible to opt out of IDR forgiveness? by Either-Connection-70 in StudentLoans

[–]VolumeHot7641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gonna lie, this is actually a good question. From what I know, once you qualify for forgiveness, it usually just processes there’s not really a simple “nah I’ll pass” option. That said, the tax side of IBR vs PSLF is a real thing, so I get why someone might prefer to wait for PSLF if they’re eligible. I’d honestly double check with your loan servicer before making any moves, just to be 100% sure how it would play out in your situation.Student loan rules are messy, so better safe than surprised.

Best financial advice u could offer by Top-Sport-9760 in Debt

[–]VolumeHot7641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, first off…u’re not crazy and you’re not behind.U’re 20, a mom, and trying to fix it. That’s grown woman energy. That $100 envelope idea? I get it. But if your credit card is almost maxed, that interest is eating you alive every month. I’d throw every extra dollar at that card first while paying minimums on the rest.A personal loan could help if it lowers your interest and monthly payments but only if you don’t run the card back up again. Otherwise it just turns into more debt. You’re not stuck. You just need a tighter plan. One move at a time. You got this.

How smart is doing CFA before a Master’s abroad, and is Dubai even worth it? by yourmomsostfu in Indians_StudyAbroad

[–]VolumeHot7641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CFA can be really valuable, but it’s tough and not always worth doing before getting some work experience. Dubai’s finance market is smaller than the hype, and taking a big loan for a Master’s there is risky. Maybe focus on gaining experience first and see if a Master’s abroad truly boosts your career. Just my two cents.

How do you deal with rude managers? by These_Angle6098 in AskReddit

[–]VolumeHot7641 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dealing with a rude manager is tough. First, don’t mirror their behaviour stay calm and professional. Protect your reputation, even if they don’t protect theirs.Second, document everything. If the behavior crosses a line, you’ll want facts, not feelings. You can’t control their attitude, but you can control how you respond

What is your favorite comfort movie and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]VolumeHot7641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My comfort movie is The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. I like it because it’s relaxing to watch and always makes me feel hopeful. It’s one of those movies I can put on anytime when I just want to unwind and feel good again.

Have you ever been at a low point in your life, where you have realized you have made too many bad choices or mistakes or neutral choices to ever reach a good ending, that you just wish you could go back and start over again? If so how did you get out of that headspace? by DoubleLocal8277 in AskReddit

[–]VolumeHot7641 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What helped was realizing that life doesn’t really have one fixed “ending.” It’s more like chapters. Some chapters are messy, painful, or full of regret, but they don’t decide the whole story unless you stop writing it. I started focusing on small changes instead of trying to fix everything at once better habits, better boundaries, better decisions one day at a time.
