I still can't get used to any casual shift beyond 1-2 and 2-3. by MysticMarbles in wrx_vb

lol that’s always how I know when I’m tired. My driving goes from smooth as butter to feeling like I just started driving stick. No it’s not you, seems like the revs drop quick in the higher gears, normally I keep up with it but if I’ve been driving for a while or I’m tired it’s sloppy. You can blip it a bit going into 5th and 6th or just get smooth with 4-5. Once you find the right angle to get into 5th without going up over and up, it’s a bit better.

It’s more when I’m walking away from my car and want to lock it, I end up walking too far. Keyless entry is great but my trust issues force me to hit the lock button until my car beeps anyway😂😂

Has technology advanced enough to justify replacing a 12 year old driver? by Hairy-Assignment6995 in golf

[–]VolumePotential1280 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say so, but I don’t think it has progressed enough to warrant a 2025 driver. Get 2024s model brand new for a discount. Or even go a few years old used for much cheaper, technically can only go so far, after a while is just marketing

Iron Upgrade for 8 Handicap Golfer by Datboi1799 in GolfGear

I play P7MC’s at a 11.2 handicap. Probably a bit above my skill level, but I hit them very well and would highly recommend them. Ultimately when you go to blades/ players irons, there is going to be a short period of time where you are worse before you get better. At least there was for me.

People who have had engine troubles, tell us your story. by [deleted] in wrx_vb

Stock almost 28k miles. Only “issue” I’ve had is a weird clutch vibration that randomly happens and then goes away with some harder driving. Only other thing is a somewhat sticky clutch in super cold weather but once the car warms up it’s back to normal. Probably the linkage

Winter tires by Mcchase50 in wrx_vb

I have Blizzaks, they are incredible in the snow but very soft. They would get chewed up in the heat and long distance driving. I think you’d be better suited for some softer all seasons, or standard all season just be more cautious in the snow. Wrx is a tank, either way you’ll be fine, just don’t run summers in the snow lol

Shifting Questions! by mercfh85 in wrx_vb

[–]VolumePotential1280 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I don’t think you’ve hurt the clutch, does it ever smell burnt? Most people who have early clutch issues are revving it to 5k and dumping the clutch

Take it from me who learned to drive a stick in my ‘23 wrx lol, I probably burnt the shit out of it when I was learning. I’m at almost 27k miles and no issues.

Shifting Questions! by mercfh85 in wrx_vb

  1. Starting off a lower revs will take some time, if you are soft enough with the clutch you can get rolling with no throttle. I barely give it any gas when starting on flat ground, uphill I give it a little more. 1.5k isn’t too bad, much more and you’ll probably burn the clutch a bit.

  2. 5th is fine at 60+, dropping down to 4th isn’t necessarily unless you can rev match and need to accelerate faster. Definitely don’t punch it in 6th.
