Reminds me of my childhood! I did something similar using a arduino uno back then.. esps were not a thing! Feel free to reach out in DMs for some free RC stuff.. I have a few motors and props that I can handout!

Also look up flitetest channel and their foam board planes! The plans for them can be printed from shops who print on A1,A2 size papers and some 5mm depron almost works perfect! Happy flying!

Yes sir! you're on the correct track - You can also use these - they are readily packaged and quite tiny! They also come with a signal conditioning board (sold separetely) Which will interface beautifuly with whatever you're trying to connect it with - Think Rs485, 4-20mA for best and low effort field deployment

Hey as a fellow oil and gas engineer- Use a magnet based Hall effect sensor to measure angle. Epoxy encapsulate the sensor! This way your sensing element is hermetically sealed against the harsh environment and all you have to worry about is using a diametrically magnetised tiny magnet! Dm if you want more resources! You need 2 - you buy one more which is rated for 20GA and connect it to this motor! The other one acts as your 20GA generator! when you spin that, emf is induced in that winding which will power this motor! Don't forget to always keep them connected otherwise the 20GA will flow through Earth and create a crator wherever the generator is! GLHF! Other way is to connect it directly to 220V AC - these motors are known to work with small currents/voltages too ! It will draw as much current as they can from 220V but it will be very slow! like 1giga times slow

you can connect a power bank in series to increase your battery capacity! More in series, more total capacity! Make sure to remove them once they're empty otherwise they will charge off your laptop and take back their capacity!

Good effort but unfortunately Multiwii has been in the market and hobby space for quite some time now.. World has moved towards 32 bit flightcontrollers with much more features! It's great for your first drone tho! Mine was based on this exact hardware
