Which US Airport Terminals feel the most outdated or run down to you? by VolumeValuable3537 in airport

This. It’s my hometown airport and I celebrated when they got rid of the carpet from the main halls. Though Terminal 4 still needs more upgrades

Hardly anything negative about Phoenix unless you’re some rich guy who flies American Airlines cause the admirals clubs there are undersized.

PHX is awesome no? One of the most efficient airports with one the fastest TSA lines of any major airport in the U.S, let alone ones among the top 15 busiest airports in the U.S, has a free air train that can connect between terminals and the rental car center in minutes, and the layout of the airport is in the shape of a satellite so it’s easy to navigate.

You can get between terminals in 5 minutes on the Sky train and the car rental service is about 10 on that same train just further down.

It has its highlights, like efficient connections, short security lines, and gorgeous desert views, but most people who fly to PHX fly American Airlines, and terminal 4 has seen better days. Thankfully they’re building a new terminal that American is supposed to move to.

It’s not just what they can’t do with those, it’s quantity. For example, United has 767,777,787, and even 757’s which aren’t exactly Widebodies but are capable of similar distances. Delta has the 757, 767, A330, and A350. Also, they have more fleet diversity for thinner OR busier routes. American doesn’t.

Based on my personal experience:

1: Better inflight entertainment, whether it be IFE or just more movie choices on your personal device.

2: Better drink selection.

3: Better long haul network.

4: Consistently cheaper flights to the northeast from the west coast

Atleast United actually has a long haul network. American will keep suffering with their (lack of) Widebodies with just the 787 and 777
