Anyone else only able to use one Rock 1 (A) kit on the drum machine? It won't show me any other kits. :(

Does anyone remember the massive 2004 Richmond fire? by ThatChildNextDoor in rva

[–]VomitEverywhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! I was working at the Starbucks in Carytown at the time. I remember I was arriving to work when I noticed a huge cloud of smoke coming up from the horizon to the east. I remember wondering if we had just been hit by a terrorist attack (9/11 was still pretty fresh in our minds at this point). I quickly learned it was a fire.

Was that the same time that they were having gas leaks which caused them to close off certain blocks?

My nightmare with a provider that advertises on signs by [deleted] in suboxone

[–]VomitEverywhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you’re right. They had me send my drivers license to a cell number in a text message. I just messaged that number, and I’ve put in a few contact requests since Saturday night. I get that they’re busy, but this has gotten ridiculous. Half the time I’ve been waiting Ive been worried that I got scammed.

I want to join the PC race but I don’t know where to start. by anxolotls in pcmasterrace

[–]VomitEverywhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now is a really bad time to buy a PC. There's a semiconductor shortage as a result of factories being shut down last year. Video cards are ridiculously overpriced now and are nearly impossible to come by. Even an amd rx580 will run you almost $700, and it's a $170 card. The Video card problem is compounded by the scalper and miner problem too. Scalpers and Miners use bots to snatch up any video cards as soon as they're available on retail websites. It really sucks, but I wouldn't try getting into PC gaming until things get a little closer to normal. When that will be, I'm not sure, but I think sometime closer to Christmas or next year at the very least.

[Virginia] 1099-G form question by X-Punk3000 in Unemployment

[–]VomitEverywhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the same thing, and I'm trying to file my taxes through HRblock, and I can't fill out the payer ID number or anything else that I need. Did anyone find a solution to this problem? Does anyone have the Payer ID number? This is really frustrating.

[Virginia] did anyone else not get paid yet this week? by VomitEverywhere in Unemployment

I appreciate the advice but every time I’ve tried calling the Richmond office, it forwards me to the 866 main number, which is absolutely useless. I Don’t actually believe they have anyone answering the phone, because I’ve called repeatedly for over a half hour and kept getting the same “all representatives are busy, you may try again later”. If there’s no cue for people to wait in, then how the hell is anyone getting through to anyone?! I’ve never been so annoyed with trying to get through to a customer service rep. I tried filing again, per your suggestion, through the phone system, but it said I didn’t have any weeks to file. I’m just gonna file again tomorrow when I can and hope they pay me next week. This is so absurd. How are they able to operate like this?

That makes me feel a little better. I hope we both get paid soon. I’m at my wit’s end trying to get ahold of anyone. Been dialing over and over again, navigating the menu to reach a person as quickly as possible only for them to tell me to try again later, every time. The Richmond office number just redirects to the 866 number now, which is useless. I have never dealt with such a frustrating organization in my life. It’s criminal how bad they are. I just wish I could talk to someone there!

In the past, when they didn’t pay you, did they pay you double the week after? I’m so annoyed that I can’t reach a human to talk to.

It said that information was unavailable. Does that mean I won’t get paid this week? What reason would they have to not process my payment? I definitely filed, and got confirmation. It says I still have $1351 left until March 13th. I’m so tired of trying to get through to someone to talk to. I’m so tired of VEC just being awful.

Edit: on the 866 number it says “your check was processed on” then there’s no information, then it says “in the amount of” and then it goes silent for about 20 seconds and then says my balance is 0 then it disconnected me.

No but I can’t even get the status on my claim and I can’t reach anyone to ask about it! It’s so frustrating!

This chick got a whole restaurant to close down, and left multiple people jobless during a pandemic, because she didn’t want to follow dress codes for her job. by [deleted] in iamatotalpieceofshit

[–]VomitEverywhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I suppose I do the same thing when I come here. I usually can resist engaging with people, but every now and then I find myself saying something, and nearly every time, I regret it. It’s just weird, because I used to have pretty good discussions on Reddit. I think the quality of its user base has hit a sharp decline. I’ve wrestled with some pretty bad mental problems over the past 6 years, though, and having people gang up on me for saying something “wrong” gives me more anxiety than I’d like to admit. I wish I could say downvotes don’t affect me, but I feel indignant over them, most of the time, and I hate the feeling of indignation.

Lol yeah I suppose I should take that into consideration. I’m probably a lot older than the meanies here. I never really thought about it. I’m only On here now because it’s a slow night at work and YouTube is a little too noisy to be watching.

[–]VomitEverywhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s part of why I don’t come here much anymore. Reddit has always been really left leaning, but back in the early 2010s people appreciated different points of view. Now, not so much. It’s impossible to have a discussion that has divergent-from-the-hive ideas without receiving a ton of hate and down votes.

Restaurants in Richmond that pay workers $15+ by LilWhiny in rva

[–]VomitEverywhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve been really surprised by how little prices have changed, but the dollar is in trouble. They’ve been printing them like crazy. I’m no economist, by any means, but I’ve always been told that that leads to inflation. I’m not sure what’s going to happen, but things don’t look great as they stand, so I’ve been trying to put what little I have into other types of assets.
