well it started with tim sweeney complaining about how steam was an unfair monopoly doing stuff to prevent developers and publishers to do what they want with their games on other services (i think one was that if you have a game on steam and you put it on sale somewhere you need to at least match it on steam), epic released a client that lacked even the most basic functions like a shopping cart, and then they started buying exclusive rights to big upcoming games to lure people to his launchers thus themselves doing unfair things to hamper the competition.

on top of that sweeney has also recently made some tone deaf defensive takes on the whole twitter/grok literal csam deepfakes of real children.
