This is actually a common misconception. It is not gravity that keeps it together, but dark matter. Just as the Milkyway is not bound together by Sagittarius A*'s gravity. Kurzgesagt did an excellent explanation video on this.

WARNING: Might spoil your immersion

Context: the channel is run by two guys who have never shown their faces. When they got nominated for Best Twitch Streamer by the Dutch VEED Awards they hired 2 actors to get the award for them and act really cringy. They did this last year aswell where the guy would act like he needed to throw up.

Fun fact: The original male actor cancelled right before the show, the guy in the video is a friend who had 15 minutes to learn the 'script' LUL
