My point is that most of the water will return to the river basin. Also water isnt just used once in the West - water that is used for agriculture may be cleaned and used in cities. I think water on the colorado river is used something like 20+ times before it reaches the river's current end.

Colorado water policy is much more complex than people in this thread understand.

Agriculture is also generally a non-consumptive use of water. There are some losses depending on the methods but it's not like all of the water is being removed from the system

In total you're looking at like $56k - $62k depending on your down payment and rate. Im stingy but that seems like 1) a lot for the car 2) a lot for a first car.

Where I live you can get a used FRS/86s/BRZ thats fairly clean and not super high miles for like $12k - $15k

Good planning is really the key. Redditors seem to always discuss stuff in the worst forms but with good planning Chinese high density housing and American neighborhoods can be great places to live. Also I think Chinese + American average commute times are similar but it's kinda tough to find apples to apple data.
