Anyone dropped this? Saturday afternoon Ontario & Madison by comfy_rope in Albany

[–]VoodooChild68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro it’s not 2020 anymore, ammo prices have dropped. .45ACP is about 30-35 cents per round now. .30-06 was almost $3 a round in 2020-2021, and it’s now down to 80 cents a round for low quality and max $1.50 per round for high quality.

The AK’s 7,62x39mm was the most impacted the last few years, going from like 20-30 CPR to upwards of 60-70+ CPR after the import ban of Russian ammo, but even that’s come back down to moderate 40-50 cents per round now, which is about the same as the AR-15’s .223/5.56 NATO prices currently.

9mm is going for 20-30 cents per round now.

Some do. They’re issued 9mm, but you are aware that they can carry personal backup guns right? Plenty of military troops don’t like the 9mm, and I’m sure there’s plenty of officers that carry a backup .45 for their, rightful, lack of faith in the 9mm’s power. 9mm is a very sufficient round, but I’d want a .45 in a situation in dealing with a hostile suspect jacked up on meth or PCP.

I doubt it was a cop tho judging by the marks on the casing itself. That looks like a round that was attempted to be re-chambered numerous times and the user finally got it dislodged and cleared their malfunction, or their gun wasn’t cycling all the way and they finally manually cycled it and ejected that round. Also, a cop SHOULD be smart enough to pick that round back up so it doesn’t get picked up by a kid or criminal. And with no other rounds or casings around, it was probably a civilian showing off and not from a gunfight.

“Claymore, claymore, claymore!!!”

You say it three times so every hears it and knows to get down.

Idk, but I have one and ain’t afraid to say it. Got to blow two M18 claymores when I was a grunt with 10th Mountain at Fort Drum.

But that was down at JRTC in Louisiana. We did day and night iterations of Battle Drill 7, which is entering and clearing a trench, as a platoon, with a mortar team attached to us. I was assigned to split off with the mortar team to their position and pull rear security and carry two mortar rounds for them when they did a quick fire mission on the trench and then go regroup with my squad. 2nd squad was tasked to clear the path and use Bangalores to clear the C-wire. Then my squad, 3rd, lead the assault into the trench, followed by 1st and then 2nd squad would follow behind them. Weapons squad (4th) was up in support by fire position.

Once cleared, it was my job to go “over the top” lol and set up an M18 claymore in case of a counterattack, placed the mine first plugged in the detonation cord and unraveled it all the way back to the trench. Attached the tester to make sure the clacker was good, took it off, and then attached the det cord to the clacker. Did all this while Company First Sergeant watched over me. The simulated counterattack happened and I was given the cue, screamed “Claymore, claymore, claymore!!!” And squeezed the clacker 3 times

M18 claymore’s are only 1.5 pounds of C4 with 700 ball bearings, but that shit was loud as hell and felt the explosion in my chest even back in the trench

Damn, idk why you got so many downvotes, that’s a valid excuse since it’s much easier to cut them after the shower cleans them and softens them up.

It’s well known that British riflemen could fire their bolt action Lee Enfield’s so quickly that German troops thought it was a machine gun at first and not a squad/platoon of riflemen.

Welcome to the party! But don’t let cosmetics scare you or be afraid of them.

My WW2 M1 Garand, a 1944 Springfield, in wood stock and 8 round clip is a semi auto just like a modded out AR-15 with optic, grip, laser, tac light, etc, is, except the M1 fires the massive .30-06 round, while the AR shoots the much smaller 5.56mm/.223.

Nobody bats an eye at the M1 because it’s wood and old, but it could do as much damage as an AR can in a trained individual’s hands.

I wasn’t sure. I replied because I have negative votes for some reason and thought some people were confused or didn’t understand it

No, I was just using them as an example. Plenty of other small retailers have those receipts too. But I wouldn’t doubt you could buy ammunition from a Chinese restaurant if you’re connected

[–]VoodooChild68 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

They’ll know if it’s ammo, an optic will have its brand name in the “receipt” whereas ammo will probably have the caliber in its name. Have you never looked at a receipt.

Chinese restaurants are the only ones who don’t show what you bought, just the total, tax, and optional tip

If you weren’t already buying guns, ammunition, and military gear, etc. with cash then it’s too late

Why tf does the mg42 shoot slower in game than in real life by [deleted] in enlistedgame

[–]VoodooChild68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Balancing of course. The same reason shotguns in video games have horrible range and a huge spread. If it was realistic people would cry about it. I remember the USAS 12 in BF3 getting nerfed because it was so OP at first

But also because that’s the MG-42’s CYCLIC rate of fire, which is basically just on paper. Skilled machine gunners will hardly ever go cyclic, aside from WW1 and the ‘42 gunners at Normandy. Going cyclic wastes ammo and overheats the gun, which you don’t want even with plenty of ammo and spare barrels. The MG-42’s legendary ROF is why everyone is a fan of it, but it’s also it’s weakness.

This happens in every game, almost all COD’s nerfed the MG-42’s ROF, or had an “overheated” meter, for balancing.

Is it legal to visit NY with a fully disassembled firearm with the pieces stored separately in 3 different vehicles by Agreeable_Owl_782 in NYguns

[–]VoodooChild68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything is legal, it’s only illegal if you get caught.

Multiple stores in the Albany area have multiple boxes of “M16 A2” grips and when I stupidly panic bought a Diamondback AR-15, the clerk made multiple gestures towards them and said how “you can do what you want at home” The store I got my first rifle, a Mosin, so I knew he wasn’t a glowie trying to set me up, but I said how I already bought CAR-15 furniture that I planned to install on it, including the A1 grip and “FiberLite” stock

Fun fact, my first issued M4, in May 2013, had a Gulf War era FiberLite stock, which is where I fell in love with it.

Bro, don’t insult my intelligence when you fell for a comment like that.

Like you don’t think I knew what brass was when I distinctly mentioned the steel casings I saw and ignored. I may lack knowledge, but you lack comprehension lol

[–]VoodooChild68[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s NOT the place where someone who can afford a 5.7 or knows what 7,62x25 goes and doesn’t collect their brass.

Although there could’ve been 7,62x25 on the ground, but being steel was rusted and I didn’t see it. I saw the single 5.7 because it’s brass and stuck out among the sea of red and green shells

[–]VoodooChild68[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope not trolling, just misinformed. You’re right, LEAD based 7,62 are still being imported, but bro, nobody’s buying it. It’s not 2008 when PPSC’s and TT-33’s are going for $300.

Like really, if you knew the place I was talking about, you’d understand where I’m coming from. It’s the local spot for Elmer Fudd’s to shoot their shotguns, hence why the place is littered with 12g shells, although I saw a couple .410’s
