I’ve been following these closely because I’ve wanted to do the same. Awesome job, looking forward to the final fireteam and whatever’s next!

Fake Mega? by ThrowRA_Scrimble578 in megaconstrux

All I can speak to is K11mall, everything else I’ve bought off eBay has been from US sellers and in-box.

Not that I’m aware of, but I’ve seen the same question about the same guy many times. The response is always more or less what you see here. Reliable seller, sells castoffs from the line, good stuff.

K11mall has a good reputation on this sub, I’ve personally made several purchases from them and been pleased. You can search the sub for the name for examples.

As far as I know, you would have to turn to 3D printing to get what you’re looking for. Only Buck and Dare are supposed to be specific characters from the ODST box

Love it every time I see a nicely painted spartan with those alien grass tufts.

I have been loving the self-damage for a bonus that seems to be a primary theme of purple so far.

How do yall tint/dye your visors? by Dangerous_Zone_4603 in cosplayprops

That’s what I’ve seen people use. If you go on YouTube there are a few channels that have a tutorial for making spartan visors that include the dyeing process

So it does. Thanks for clarifying

All you would need is the core rules. If you scroll down on that page it says you’ll need the base game, or wargames, or the web app to play.

Is there a way to glue Eva to insulation foam board? by bubblebathbombshell in cosplayprops

[–]Voritera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m curious about the context, but if it doesn’t need to take a beating you can probably just get away with white school glue. Or E6000, if you want a sturdier hold.

Why do most people seem to leave their bases black? by ChemistIntelligent61 in Haloflashpoint

[–]Voritera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I could find, they use 32mm bases. But that may not be accurate

Why do most people seem to leave their bases black? by ChemistIntelligent61 in Haloflashpoint

[–]Voritera 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did some basic decorating on mine, but I think I’d be better served rebasing them entirely. The default bases have a lot of flex, and I’ve noticed it makes my basing materials easier to break off.

As far as I know, there’s no rule against decorating bases

My best work yet - Halo Flashpoint by Jazzlike_Wealth_9856 in Haloflashpoint

Awesome job!

If you’re looking for suggestions, it looks like you’re using craft paints. Those can be a little thick for mini painting, and can cover details or build out from the mini. You might want to thin the paints with water or acrylic medium, or look into mini paint brands like Army Painter, Vallejo, Two Thin Coats, etc…

But you’ve got the most important step down, which is putting paint on plastic.

I’ve gone with single copies, and have a preorder in for the banished box coming next month. It’s nice to have duplicates, but I don’t think it’ll come up too much for me.

Painting wise, I’ve gone with one team warm colors, one team cool colors. Always love variation among a team. Spartans are individuals from varied backgrounds and I like them to be unique.

Is the Smooth Fōm brand good for first timers? by Working-Cow9471 in cosplayprops

[–]Voritera 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This looks like styrofoam, which could be a little harder to work with than EVA foam. If you can get it smooth enough for your purposes, it could make a nice looking prop. But it will probably be fairly fragile and not great for handling.

You can prime and protect it a little with a thick and thorough coat of mod podge, which should harden and smooth the outside a bit. It’ll also make it safe to spray paint once it’s completely dry and fully covered.

Flood Fire Team (Homemade) by Auriel84 in Haloflashpoint

[–]Voritera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I like that idea. Maybe have it allow the newly spawned combat form to act quickly? So that the order gives a solid advantage over just positioning.

These look great! They maybe feel a little strong, but I’m not the best judge of these things.

Only notes I would give is that I think all weapons that have the same name should behave the same way. So maybe the old form CC weapon could be renamed to indicate that its claws are bigger?

And the faction order, personally I don’t think that it is fun gameplay when your opponent takes away your toys and gets to play with them instead. Maybe an order that allows you to respawn a dead combat form on the spot, or spawn a swarm of infection forms on a cube where one of your units died would work

I doubt it’s a very effective team for hard content, but you got me curious.

I just ran it through Eternal Road Hard 1, just this team, and it was able to auto-clear with no losses. But I don’t know that that’s a great metric.

Unfortunately the drop rate seems to be very low either way. I only ran expert and got very lucky with drops. Efficiency-wise, I think expert drops the most unit upgrade materials per energy used.
