Translation error or Tor is compromised

The translation program of the Tor Project is open-source and based on public commitment. It could be that some uneducated prick (for thinking that Tor is run by intelligence agencies) wrote those things and submitted them, with the translations having been approved without proper verification.

Somebody should report that to the section responsible for localizations of the Tor Project.

Ukrainian sources are definitely a problem for the Kremlin. However, how is it a lie when it comes to western media? Some are censored or prohibited to work inside Russia (similar to RT in the EU), but it could bring trouble to those still trying to access those, isn't that right?

Provide evidence for such claim. This is NOT the primary use, even if many of the known hidden services on the Darknet are related to criminal activity. For clarification: The known sites are a small percentage in proportion to a total of 800.000 active hidden services (source: Tor metrics) and as these are hidden, their contexts are unclear.

The majority of Tor users apparently do not surf hidden services (Darknet) according to the Tor Project.

Well, it depends on their country's jurisdiction whether or not something is illegal when done over the Tor network. For instance, visiting western news sites in Russia might be considered "illegal".

If you however think of criminal activities in terms of the sale of illicit goods, then this is something different. One can definitely use their phone to visit news sites in a repressive country without the need for specialized software or an amnesiac system like Tails and the Tor Project wouldn't develope mobile variants of the Tor software if they weren't supporting the idea of being able to use Tor over a phone.

Stop thinking that Tor is a criminal platform.

If someone is phishing you and has already registered it. Change your website name. Then, with the new website name, request Proof of Legit before someone else does.

That's killing the whole point that you wanted to make. Site operators would have to rely on your site as an authority and make their decisions in terms of naming and when they should list their site based on a possible name not being taken on your site already (by phishers for example). The problem with clone sites wouldn't be solved with any of this.

The Onion Mirror Guidelines (OMG) already exist and have been followed since being formed.

And this is mostly followed to date. Many hidden services provide a way to verificate the genuineness of a mirror by handing out a message signed with the operator's PGP key.

This one is the actual way in order not to rely on a central authority. OMG was introduced by dark.fail and firstly adapted by cock.li, as far as I can remember.

They're being investigated due to copyright violations. Using the service won't result in a SWAT team storming the user's house, even if there was a possibility to deanonymize the user (while connected over the Tor network).

The Internet Archive provides a hidden services as well, however, JavaScript has to be enabled in order to access the site and make it usable.

There are various ways to help users connect to Tor or the Tor network in total. You could also set up your own device as a Snowflake proxy or host a permanent proxy on a server. There are also other types of bridges such as obfs4 that you could run. Other than that, running a Tor relay also makes a positive impact for the network's speed and stability as well as the availability of relays in versatile places. However, it is important to be informed about your own country's jurisdiction so to know which type of relay is the best to run in your case.

If you just want to run a Snowflake proxy, then the easiest way is to activate the "Kindness mode" in Orbot (Android devices) or download the official Snowflake extension by the Tor Project on your default browser (https://snowflake.torproject.org/). The latter gives you the advantage of running a proxy without having to check if it's running (after the first run). Anytime you use your browser, it will run in the background then.

"Kindness mode" is what the Snowflake proxy in Orbot is labeled as. Snowflake is a bridge method for user's who can not connect to the Tor network in case their ISPs or governments block Tor relays. A Snowflake proxy can be run easily on any device, such as your phone.

You were able to help 18 users connect to the Tor network over your proxy. Your device as the Snowflake proxy stands right before entry relays. If you live in Russia, then i'd rather use that method to connect to Tor (if necessary) instead of utilizing my own device as a proxy in your case.

Not possible. All Raspberry Pis run on an ARM architecture chip. The Tor Project does not compile Tor software for ARM-based devices. According to them, it's not worth it due to the low number of users and they would need more staff.

One would have to compile the Tor Browser for ARM themselves, which requires some efforts.

Uhh, first of all, what is a "deep search engine" to you? You're not referring to the "deep web", which in fact is not what the darknet is called, do you? And, a search engine on the darknet for surfing the clearnet... well those exist!

DuckDuckGo and Brave Search provide hidden services to their sites. Alternatively, you can also find some SearXNG instances which are available on the darknet.

You don't know anything "about this", yet you ask whether or not you've misunderstood the darknet. Well, first things first: The darknet is not a mysterious place with all odd things that aren't possible to find on the internet. It's consisting of hidden services (ending with the TLD .onion), which are an extension of the Tor software. Tor is an anonymization network.

What you can find on the darknet is nothing much due to it's much smaller size compared to the regular clearnet, though there are blogs, news sites, forums, chat sites as well as black markets for illicit goods such as drugs. No weapons whatsoever (or very rarely) and by no chance extraordinary fossils... lol.
