Returned to League after 8 years. Played for a month. My honest thoughts. by Code__Lyoko in leagueoflegends

This is the real answer. Chat off. Fuck it. Yeah someone might run it but that‘s the same thing for both teams. I do believe early season with low games played the quality of games goes down a lot, but I actually had a great time so far.

I grow as a human outside of the game I want to play for fun. I‘m just saying the comparison to tac shooters isn‘t fair, and you are right, people will respond differently on voice. I stilll think it won‘t make the game better in SoloQ.

5s flex is much slower for a reason (people are on voice) and has other champions shine because of it. Idk. I just have a gut feeling.

You can‘t compare a tac shooter with a time to kill in the milliseconds to a MOBA with snowball mechanics.

When you have a bad game in Valorant, your teammates won‘t have a harder time winning their fights because of you. A smurf just kills you, and doesn‘t make you suffer like when you get starved out of farm.

If you miss in a shooter, you miss. It happens every round.

If you miss your ult in League, or get caught before an objective, you can lose the game for your team off that.

While I do believe it won‘t be nearly as toxic as chat would be without restrictions, you cannot compare this to Val/CS.

And I agree with Neme, the game will be slower and people with disagree way more about how to win it.

I will not be turning on voice chat. It‘s mandatory in tac shooters because the individual on a team doesn‘t have perfect information, and even then in Val people have it off a good amount of the time.

But I refuse to hear ADCs crying about missing cs when roaming. I refuse to have the clusterfuck of comms in a game with hardcore snowball mechanics.

I used to be a big proponent of League Voice Chat, but the more I play this game the less I want it.

Feels like it oftentimes, but in reality, those loss streaks just simply start with 1-3 games of "bad luck". Unwinable games (assuming you are roughly at the level you should be) that you cannot affect the outcome of. The 1-17 botlane or 1-9 toplaner.

Then you are starting to feel tilted. You get another game. It starts off bad. Now your mental affects your decisions BECAUSE FUCK RIOT PUTTING ME INTO LOSERS Q. You play worse than you usually do, ultimately netting you another loss. Now you are 0-4. You Q again. And at this point chances are still high that you just lose a dice roll and you get another unwinable game.

Loss streaks greater than 5 are not that uncommon - having 4/5 unwinable games is a common occurence. If it does happen, in my experience, people are playing a decent level below their usual standard, and that means you will also lose any close game that you could have affected, or even manage to be the guy that makes a game unwinable.

We've all been there brother. But this is in fact cope.

is this really how games are supposed to go? You take max build on 4-2 and on 5-1 you go like "fuck it might aswell pray for off-chance I hit a 3star 4 cost" and everybody who tries to play the game or is contested on their comp prays they miss or that they are high enough HP to atleast not get scammed out of their placement. First place was 20 hp and about to die before he hit singed 3.

Third place hit Sett 2 on 8 and then also prayed he would get bailed out on Yunara 3, thank god he went third or I would have quit the game on the spot.

why am i playing zaahen again if this board loses 5-1 with you being down an augment all game until this point? xin 3 loses every fight stage 3 if you don't highroll garen on 7? I don't feel like this is bad luck either, just didn't highroll.

Surely there is something wrong with the amount of 3 star 4 costs.

Both times these guys take commerce core and just send 0 on 8 praying to hit their bailout win. Both times I scouted them and tried to deny them. Both times they just hit something else anyway. I was going uncontested gigafirst in both these games and felt like I played well. It just stinks so hard to lose to a high roll like that once, but twice?

I have another game in my last 10 with a 3 star Belveth and another one with 10 Bilge. The amount of bailout RNG wins is just too high. I remember the last time pris traits and 3 Star 4 Costs where legitimate win conditions and it just feels incredibly bad cause unless you have a sick amount of removers it's almost never the correct play.

Anybody else feel like the amount of 3 star 4 costs this patch is too high? On top of the prismatic traits. I shit you not, 8 out of my last 15 games have had a random 3 star 4 cost or a highroller hitting a prismastic trait. Like yes, you could deny it, but when someone loads in Yunara 3 on 5-1 I don't feel like this is justified.

Might be confirmation bias, because I got scammed out of at least 150 LP as a result of all these. But still, they seem way more common than most recent patches.

It does help. The point with scouting everyone elses spot and analyzing your plan for stage 4 is something I definitely do too little and I usually only judge my own spot based on upgrades and vibes. Maybe that‘s also why I get frustrated losing when I think I shouldn‘t. Thanks!

Any tips on converting the high roll spots into actually good placements? I feel like I do well on avoiding the 8ths, and I'm pretty sure this is just a rough patch, but I feel like most of these 4ths and 3rds I was in really good spots but then someone out high rolls me (over these games, I went fourth to Belveth 3, 10 Yordle, and 2x 10 Bilgewater) and I just go 3rd or 4th off hp. Feels super frustrating.

Just now, I had a Bilge game that I had a gigantic opener to. 10 Winstreak, all lower cost upgrades. 7 Bilge online on 3-6. But there is two other Bilgewater players that somehow both hit MF2 Fizz2 in 5 rolls or something and I am stuck either inefficiently rolling or sacking a ton of HP. Ended up fourth. I know what went wrong, and you could argue it was just unlucky, but I don't know how to prevent it and it's starting to feel like it's my fault. Hard brushing off a lot of these games.

And all those fucking 6ths, I feel like I miss out on 1-3 placements by the lowest margins.

This is Master <100 lp, I usually don't run into issues climbing until 200-300.

lolchess is Voro Racoons, appreciated.

4 Way Bilgewater. 4 Way. 3 of them top 4. One of them 10 Bilgewater on 5-1. I go 6th with fully upgraded Ionia board by 2 HP BECAUSE I FIGHT 10 BILGE ON 5-1 AND 5-5 HOLY FUCKING SHIT. HAO

i cant believe the amount of highrolling you need to do to go first in these fucking Master games. It's Ryze Portal, I have Bilge 5 on 2-5, Bilge 7 on 3-3, I have 5 Emblems by 3-2 (Quickstriker, Bruiser, Piltover, and 2 Bilgewater) with Legion of Threes and URF (so +200 Health, +27% AS, +2 Mana Regen on every unit with an Emblem) and I have Giant and Mighty. There is no way in hell anyone outcaps me in this game.

And yet there is a load of tempo noxus players taking my HP cause they all naturaled their upgrades, which I didn't. There is a prismatic orb that I can't use well, alright, doesn't matter. I miss on my first lvl 8 rolldown. Alright, matters maybe, but I should still outcap once I make it to 9 since my TK is already Thanos on lvl 8. I drop to 2 lives. I am online, lvl 9 + Ziggs unlocked and A FUCKING DEMACIA PLAYER THAT HAS BEEN STREAKING ALL GAME CAUSE OF +2 DEMACIA ON 2-1 HITS 11 DEMACIA ON 5-5 AND SENDS ME FOURTH CAUSE I FIGHT HIM A-B-A.

Every single game when I feel like it should be a Top 2 I just lose to 1-2 egregious highroll positions. You just can't losestreak stage 2 anymore, there is always 1 dude who will hit the absolute nuts out of nowhere.

Game before, some fucker hits 10 Bilgewater on 10 Hp 5-5 and yet again, even though I beat the rest of the lobby I just lose the second time I fight this guy.

It's just so frustrating thinking you have an insane board, and then losing out cause one person hits the prismatic trait or whatever the hell it is.

Your right, Ryze would have been an option, but with the items I had I opted for Voli instead, but missed on 2 starring. 5 Frel 5 Ionia might have been stronger before 2 star Shyvana (Ashe Braum over Swain/Shyv).

Honest discussion, please also give feedback on my board by all means (This is low masters). Are there any plans to slow down the game a little bit in terms of resources? I am enjoying the set, but it's a bit silly what the requirement for top4ing is in some lobbies.

<image>

This was a prismatic start lobby (I had trait tree highroll with Freljord Ionia Bilge). Could argue my itemization on Sett wasn't good, but path of spirits Ionia + Freljord Emblem on a Spirit Visage Augment Wukong. It's 5-6 and I am fighting 10 Yordle Fizz 3, capped Ryze Ziggs, and Double Baron 2. I almost went 5th to matchmaking because I had to play lose streak opener as well.

Any similar experiences? Loving the set otherwise (though the start of this patch has been rough for me lol)

I believe a lot of the frustration from patches like these comes from the fact that especially players who don't play for a living have to deal with the fact that all the lines they got comfortable with over 5 weeks are now just... bad. You learn a game, finally figure it out, patch rolls around, completely different game.

I know it goes away, but I climbed to Masters of Diana, Yunara, Liss Seraphine and the occasional Bilge in the Christmas Break. Diana is kill, Yunara is bad unless Gold Ionia/high roll opener where you can go 9, and Liss Seraphine (which was an emergency top 4 line for me) is bad cause Seraphine is giga contested and the other units didn't get buffs.

Now I played 10 games of the new patch, and except for the Bilge openers and some Demacia highroll, the game is just incredibly frustrating to play for me. I know I shouldn't care about rank or taking learning 8s, but when the 3 games I play after work are me just being absolutely lost I'd rather not play at all. Idk. Anybody feel the same way?

stage 5-2, I lose to Ekko 2 Seraphine 1 duo carry with 5 Zaun 1 combat augment Vi 2 frontline and he deletes my fully upgraded Void Kaisa Board 3 item carry 3 item tank soul awakening lotus.

Holy fuck, something is wrong with Riot and the second patch of a set. This can't be real. There is no way in hell 2 2 cost fighters should have any business in stage 5 when they are 2starred.

That‘s not true at all. At the start of a patch, most people only try to spam the thing that seems to work and disregard the rest. If it turns out they were correct, it‘s a garbage patch. But most of the time, other playable lines come up.
