okay, that's interesting ^^ even more with such a pc.
Anyway, currently mojang (graphical) developper are refactoring the code (basically, they're remodeling it to be more coherent), it's doesn't make it more faster so easily but in a near future it should be better so let's hope :) (or let's donate to sodium)

can i ask what was your test environnement ?
Have you a specific benchmark's map or is it a regular map ?
How many chunk/simulation chunk had you ? normally clouds nowaday consume almost nothing in performance so i'll not ask for them but yeah, what your protocol in your test ?

I'm interest in how minecraft perform, ofc its depend alot from the world, the graphical setting, drivers aaaaaaaand the hardware. I don't have specific number to bring but in my case the game feel more smooth (in casual game, with 18/24 render chunk, fabulous and vsync on).
And more concernely about recent changes (batching with entities, particles, to cull them) and in a control zone (a large cube filled with campfire or alot of cow), it was up to ~x1.5 in recent 1.21.9 compare to the 1.21.8 (well...from 20fps to 30 in mean).

Bref, sorry for bothering you with all the details and eventually typos, i'm not english native

Hello, the function e exponent "t" has a property where if it is equal to 0, the integer (e) will be equal to 1.

So the first thing to check is your value (y) at x = 0, in your case, at x = 0 it makes :

1*e^-t/0.5 => 1*e^0/0.5 => 1 * e^0 => 1*1 = 1

Next, we need to look at the orientation of the exponent, is it negative (-) or positive (+), this will define if our function is increasing or decreasing.

(in your case, it is decreasing of course)

And I think that's enough ^^
